I am going to be doing Thumbnails like this for a couple of days, would love more feedback on if you like this type of thumbnails or think it's over the top?
Its a great thumbnail. Plain thumbnails looks kinda serious.

I hope all is well, Viper. Thank you for making these videos. I wish I was a fraction of the player you are I'm terrible lol. Anyway I personally think the videos are more appealing when you have the title of your video in your thumbnail as you've been doing for some time.
Wellll, maybe for some is nice and interesting but I think many people are here for the content which is great already.
A thumbnail without Daut's face will never get an approval from me.
I find it amazing that you casually answer questions from chat while doing all that stuff ingame.. I can barely let my tc constantly work while scouting. The APM and multitasking is sick..
When you're really good at a strat game it becomes 2nd nature to you, you have to focus on micro but on macro it should become easier and easier as soon as you *get* what your build orders economy etc should look like.
like what the other guy said, the better you are at the game, the less you have to think about what you are doing... like for example, a world champion boxer could probably knock you out flat without thinking about it, while if i wanted to knock you out, i'd have to give it some thought on how to do it
Its like playing the guitar and singing. Easy when you are comfortable with the guitar. Seems impossible when you start. However, performance is affected. We've never really seen true viper in that way. In a few rare games on here he has gone quiet and started playing faster and faster. When he gets 'in the zone' is when he pulls off his ridiculous comebacks he is famous for.
So basically, he does play like you when streaming, proportional to his skill level.

If Viper likes the Tycoon, go with a classic like Rollercoaster Tycoon (can use the open RCT mod or whatever for Rollercoaster Tycoon ).

Viper playin Witcher ? Sign me up fam. Or Mass Effect maybe ? Whatever either one would be awesome once a week or so. Dark Souls would also be awesome it is everything but a chill game tho.

Play Divinity 2 with the Secret boys, that has the potential to be hilarious...

Baldur's Gate III (also from Larian but with more money and resources behind it) when it comes out.
divinity 2 is a different game, divinity original sin 1 and 2 is the multiplayer one.
the divinity franchise is almost as old as diablo give or take a bit, and has more games than just original sin
Subnautica definitely deserves some love as well, I'm surprised that wasn't suggested already. There's a sequel on the way, currently in open beta, but the original is really good as well.
I second Subnautica, it's a work of art from start to finish.

Huge +1 from me for Witcher 3. Lot's of great game suggestions, but I would love to see you play what is arguably one of the games of the decade! Since the COVID lockdown, I have started gaming more so I got Witcher 3 on sale. I probably spent 100+ hours gaming with 50+ on Age on 50+ on Witcher. It's a fantastic change of style and pace from competitive Age that you can just chill and go single-player. A modern game where the graphics still look fresh (though would recommend HD reworked mod which is great). Imagine Viper making story-changing decisions with FTL low latency chat - I'm a longtime Viper viewer and would definitely tune in!

Yellow Mongols Viper. A nostalgic classic.
RimWorld or FrostPunk would both be nice. They're both games where the entire point is trying to survive against a game that is actively trying to kill you, and that makes for great streams.
Portal 2 is a great game.
Any kind of city building or tycoon game you might find relaxing.
I think bannerlord is good to play again and I think it will be a game you will like a lot, since it has a lot of chill and tactics in it where you also can do whatever you want. For the chillness I would recommend easier settings so you and your troops dont die so quick.

that was the mistake. he never target fired. if that Slav player would be MBL this would be tougher for Viper.
Fun fact - the war you played here actually happened, but rather with Tatars than with Mongols. (But they technically are the same thing.) It's also reflected in the book "With Fire and Sword" by Henryk Sienkiewicz. I could kinda recommend it to you if you have time for it.
Geez who was the opponent? I'm a total noob but if the first thing i see is mangudai i aint even building a siege workship let alone trying to mass anything from em
Slavs against Mongols is always a difficult matchup. But viper said it himself during the game that it was the right approach using halbs and siege. Maybe bad execution. 1 against 4 relics and mangudai numbers just kept on growing.
Company of Heroes 1 is WAY better than Company of Heroes 2

every viper game is an Amazing Learn for me. Interesting stuff.
skyrim got some mod recently that is supposed to me like new dlc, thou there we lot good other options too. And portal with Daut would be amazing, amount of trolling.
units killed 132 units lost 12... crazy..
and enemy killed 20 and lost 140, so he killed 12 of vipers units and 8 of himself..
and to add insult too injury, viper even converted 2 units from him^^

mr greed should have gone for skirms and helbs and ornagers. if mangudais come for hit squad on ornagers then skirms will do alot of dmg back. and helbs is for hussars.
Is it doable with plumes or CA as well or is it the mangudai bonus vs siege that plays a major role?
Plumes and Cavalry Archers need more military, and their fire rate isn't as good as Mangudai, but they can still do it. Mangudai really shine at it though, less risk involved.
Would it be different if MrGreed (Blue player) made skrimishers instead of halbadiers?
Is there a good TH-cam video which compares AoE2 to Starcraft? A TH-camr I like made one, but it was about all of Age of Empires, specifically AoM and AoE3, which I feel are simplified/more casual. I’d like to see a direct comparison between AoE2 and Starcraft. Maybe a quick 5-7 min video of your opinion Viper?
I'm no Viper, but I can tell you that SC2 is much more "micro" focused since the economic aspect is really simplified with only two resources. It compensates by featuring a greater variety of units with lots of abilities on cooldowns which I've always found a bit gimmicky. The other main difference is the existence of only three races, which despite being fundamentally different, results in only six possible combinations, including three mirrors. This makes strategizing somewhat trivial.
Play RDR2. Best game to chill and play. doesn't have great story though.

Some chill games I have played recently:
Outer Wilds - 100% playable via controller, great emersion, puzzle exploration game... Probably my favourite game i have played in a long time
Dicey Dungeons - quirky rng puzzle game (FTL is in the same vein as this), 100% playable on a controller
Terraria - platformer / 2d minecraft, 100% playable on controller
Have you considered playing Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge?
Some comments on the Witcher, first is cool but a lot of running around and buggy, 2 has a different combat and found it hard to play, would say Witcher 3 would maybe be your best bet. Would be fun to watch 👍🏽. Total war would be fun to watch but very heavy once you get far into a game I think. Crusader kings 2 is definitely one of the best RTS’ out there, a lot to do if you can get into that style of games

Lowest,difficulity really? Even on normal, raiders die to 2 quick attacks.
oh and I forgot, some may think roll in this game work like dark souls but it doesn't, no invincible frame for you, specially when you fight again human enemies
Captain Squirrel i said lower difficulty, not lowest. I wouldnt recommend death march as the difficulty for the first playthrough if you want to take it easy?
Obviously you just have to casually play through Zelda Ocarina of time. For real though it'd be cool if you played some other games. I'd even welcome it on the youtube channel
Edit: Also some good casual games that are good for streaming are Rimworld or FTL. I'd say stronghold but the campaigns are kinda meh in my books
Mangudai bonus vs siege is stupid. They should deal no more than 2 dmg per shot.
I want to see The Viper play FTL. Maybe that’s weird but I think the AOE 2 skills would translate well and the commentary would be hilarious. Rimworld would also be interesting.
What’s so nice about being 900/1200 Elo is I never have to worry about finding a game. I found a 4v4 at 4am in 1 minute 20 seconds the other day😂

edit: just got to the part where you know of it. anyway, it's a fun turn-based tactical combat game with some light overworld/base strategy management. i really like playing it in ironman so that my choices matter more and i can't revert to saves.

Vipi you should try Northgard. It's strategy game, but chill and relax as you wish. And it's about vikings.
Are skirms/Onager ever be a good combination against the Mangudai?
it's possible, he should have mixed some skirm with halberdier to avoid being kited like that
I noticed someone asked this in the chat, but wouldn't elite skirms and onagers been more successful instead of halbs? Maybe opponent was worried about Viper making a transition to light cavalry.

I use mongols almost every time I play AoE, so watching you using mangudais is kind of relaxing xD. And why you not try FF7???
play Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, it's a lot like AoE2 in economy, but the units are different

Slay the spire is a very strategic deep game, with no apm needed, so pretty chill. But much to learn

would your foe be in a better spot had he gone mass skirmish instead of mass spike? and rams rather than onagers?
I feel like Stellaris could be the sort of game Viper wants for more laid back play such a chill game with time for chat. Maybe even a bit too slow tbh.
Get all the Team Secret boys in and watch them destroy the galaxy.
Tower defense games are good if you want to just sit back relax and play.
