Marvin Wyche; yes, the Jones Girls was out almost around the same time the Emotions. The Emotions were a lot of background vocals for earth, wind & fire with the legendary Maurice White & brother Verdin White(Columbia Records). The Jones Girls were under Philadelphia International Records sponsored by the legendary Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff. Both Girl group were phenomenal in their own right.
I had the pleasure of meeting Pamela and all her sisters(Wanda ,Sheila , Jeanette) after a concert they did in Atlantic City, NJ many years ago. My late Uncle used to be in the "Chi-Lites" so he took us back stage to meet them, as he knew them from being from Chicago as well.They were all very nice and so small! I was a teenager towering over all four of them. RIP Pamela.
One can easily hear late Pamela's upper register as easily as one can could recognize Sheila's, very similar tones. There will never be another like Ms Pam.
