Low Testosterone Story (Treatment at 19)

  • I developed anorexia when I was 14 years old and it lasted until I was 15 years old. Age 14 is truly when my depression began. My depression continued until age 21 (doing well now!), however I was recommended by my father to be tested for my testosterone levels when I was 18 (he also suffered from low testosterone). I had them tested twice, the first time, my level came back as 371 ng/dL. This was at a low T center where I was being treated by a physician’s assistant. The PA recommended that I be put on HCG monotherapy. I tried a course of this for roughly six months only to be tested again and have my levels come back even lower, at 350 ng/dL. My symptoms were severe social anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, low libido, no energy. Nothing that a young guy should feel. However, from this monotherapy, no relief in my symptoms presented itself. I then, during my freshman year of college, went to another low T clinic and they put me on a combination of HCG, Clomid, and Arimidex/anastrozole. This was a hellish combination that I was on for a painful 6 months. Needless to say, I became an emotional wreck. Suicide was on my mind all too often and I had a constant pain of anxiety in my chest. I cried over the smallest things and frankly just felt plain awful. I then went to another clinic and the physician’s assistant there finally put me on testosterone cypionate at a dose of 150mgs per week. However, the cost was all too high at $500 per vial which equated to over $2000 per year. I looked through other avenues of treatment and found a way to self-treat, bringing the cost down to less than a tenth of that original cost. I have not yet visited an endocrinologist, although strongly recommended to by my psychiatrist. There are two reasons for my hesitation.
    1) Cost. My treatment is going fine and I feel great, so why would I want to spend over a thousand dollars to find out “whats really wrong with me” when it could just be a genetic factor? (my older brother has low T too)
    2) He’s going to change my treatment. 150mg of Test E weekly has me feeling pretty good, and I’ve done my research. I’m overdue for blood work, and I know this is irresponsible. Although, I have heard all too many horror stories of guys getting put on terrible treatments of 200mg biweekly, or even worse, 400mg in the form of a month a month injection. Terrible protocols.

I’m glad to hear from someone that has a genuine medical need for TRT. I understand totally how you feel. A rollercoaster 🎢 mentally and physically,

Good video man. Try to explain the medical terms so people with low t can get a clear picture of what your talking about. Keep up the good work and keep kicking ass 💪👊

It took only a month to see improvements in sexual function but 3+ months to see improvements in mood and anxiety. The energy levels came back somewhere in between

I've been struggling. low T deffinitley has to be from the foods we eat. It should be illegal how so many mcdonalds and outfood chains are in this country. Those foods are addictive and have hand picked ingredients like msg to.hook your tastebuds the food is a major cause of low T. On top of that how processed and toxic the foods are these days you can't even by a granola bar or cereal without it having hi fructose corn syrup, canola oils, a bunch of sugar all lowering your t levels. Plastic water bottles even have chemicals in the plastic that drop your levels.... There's a huge epidemic of depression, fatness, low T something is the culprit. Average height for a Canadian and America male use to be 6 feet tall. Now it's 5'9 or 5'10 that right there says we're atrophying

Thanks for putting this out there. I'm 20 and I've been diagnosed with low T at ~250 ng/dL. I've been on natesto - a nasal TRT gel for about 3 weeks and haven't seen much improvement yet. I have all of the symptoms you've listed in addition to aching joints and muscles which are by far the worst symptom. Did you experience any body ache symptoms? My bloodwork before TRT also showed low estrogen and I read that low estrogen can be the cause of joint issues so that could by why.

I tried Clomid and HCG, both made me a mess. Direct T replacement seems the best.

Caber this is crazy man , exactly last year when I was at the final moments of being 19 (like 10 months in) my sex drive just switched completely off. 4 months later , I go to the t clinic nd find out I had low T. 416 ng / dl. Started exercising, and eating more protein, and food. Lowkey feel a bit better. Have you tried any remedies like that ?
