The Dopamine Detox (Quitting Caffeine, Weed, Porn, Nicotine, Wellbutrin)
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Throughout my college years I had a heavy addiction to any source of dopamine. This included weed, video games, nicotine (through the form of vaping and even a brief stint of cigar smoking), porn/masturbation/orgasm, caffeine (in the form of coffee and energy drinks), fake sugars/sugar alcohols (in protein bars and energy drinks), and rap music constantly playing in my ears no matter where I we...

Low Testosterone Story (Treatment at 19)
มุมมอง 2.7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I developed anorexia when I was 14 years old and it lasted until I was 15 years old. Age 14 is truly when my depression began. My depression continued until age 21 (doing well now!), however I was recommended by my father to be tested for my testosterone levels when I was 18 (he also suffered from low testosterone). I had them tested twice, the first time, my level came back as 371 ng/dL. This ...

Many might claim that quitting all of these at once is insane but these are the same folks that'll try to quit one of these dependencies, and fail. Many of these things have a certain degree of synergy that compel us to continue the poly addiction per se. The nicotine keeps us chugging the caffeine and the caffeine and nicotine hits just a bit better when you're following it up with some weed or opiates etc. They really all should go at once.

Unless you crowd out the bad things w/ good things, abstaining from the bad never lasts. And it will be cold & dark misery the whole time. It’s why so many people in AA unfortunately become “dry drunks.” They’ve removed the weeds from their garden, but it never becomes a lush, beautiful garden.

I've been struggling. low T deffinitley has to be from the foods we eat. It should be illegal how so many mcdonalds and outfood chains are in this country. Those foods are addictive and have hand picked ingredients like msg to.hook your tastebuds the food is a major cause of low T. On top of that how processed and toxic the foods are these days you can't even by a granola bar or cereal without it having hi fructose corn syrup, canola oils, a bunch of sugar all lowering your t levels. Plastic water bottles even have chemicals in the plastic that drop your levels.... There's a huge epidemic of depression, fatness, low T something is the culprit. Average height for a Canadian and America male use to be 6 feet tall. Now it's 5'9 or 5'10 that right there says we're atrophying

Thanks for putting this out there. I'm 20 and I've been diagnosed with low T at ~250 ng/dL. I've been on natesto - a nasal TRT gel for about 3 weeks and haven't seen much improvement yet. I have all of the symptoms you've listed in addition to aching joints and muscles which are by far the worst symptom. Did you experience any body ache symptoms? My bloodwork before TRT also showed low estrogen and I read that low estrogen can be the cause of joint issues so that could by why.

I want to ask you about Wellbutrin specifically though, because my doctor recommended it plus my usual antidepressant for my lack of motivation. I wonder if you tried it before? so once you got on a non-retarded protocol, the social anxiety was helped? Found an amazing clinic in the UK that knows what they are doing, and am currently considering. Often I feel powerful/masculine inside (psychologically) but am unable to express this. My external behaviour in social situations always ends up being expressed in an overly timid and avoidant manner. Overly wary and watchful of others without staying in my own presence if that makes sense. Obviously not always linked to low T but I have been having suspicions lately; blood test soon..
