The clicks and pops you are hearing has nothing to do with clocking. That's your buffer settings when adjusting the latency. As track count increases effects the buffer latency which you simply increase the buffer. An external Master Word Clock is designed for multi digital hardware devices connected to help keep them all in sync such as Madi, ADAT or more than one AD/DC AD/DC converter.

I had a lot of click and pop issues too and it was the USB cable but yes you are right clocking issues cause jitter but I don't think they cause clicks and pops

Good info! How would I clock out of a Midas M32? If I were to remove the usb expansion card with a ADAT that would allow for a wordclock - how would I connect the Midas M32 back to the computer if no USB is available?

Like those Focal's in the Background can you review them please? As I want to upgrade my reference monitors and they're under consideration.

I have a universal audio apollo 8 , 16 both unit thunder bolt with upgrated by black lion audio as well as a universal audio 4-710d. Do o still need a clock source and what model brand would you refer. I most track keywords amd drum machine amd some vocals here and their.

If your using both Apollo at the same time combining the I/O then you would need to clock them together. That way when you change the sample rate on one the other one will follow. You don't need a separate clock because the Apollo already has a clock inside it.
