try using a vacuum hose/wand instead of swatting flies. A lot easier for me, and not at all gross. It works especially well by windows and doors. The pasture looks great. I cant wait to hear you tell us the difference in the taste of the 2 sets of pigs and also compare their weights. I'm betting the pig port pigs will taste much nicer because of all the dairy and extra kitchen scraps they get.
I want let u know quartz do burn around 400° so putting a hot pan on it will burn it.. i learn the hard way lol.. ur kitchen looks good

I’m sure you’re probably trying to avoid antibiotics. Just be careful because some of the skin infections can progress rapidly. Watch for a fever and monitor the borders of the inflamed area.

I think that if the hose is under the surface of the cows forest water tank, it will siphon back down the hose and drain out the foot drain of the hydrant. When you turn off the frost free hydrant, a drain opens at the base.

Hope that water tank isn't back siphoning into the system with the hose being left in. It's always a challenge when little things go wrong with the body, first your ribs and now your foot, hopefully you'll bounce back soon. Love that sink and those counters.
Is your water siphoning because you leave the hose in the tank uphill?
I think this is possible especially since there are leaks in the hose lower down.

If you left the water hose in the tank after you filled it, it can siphon dry if there is a small leak in the hose down the hill
When you were walking through the field I thought I saw you limping and wondered if something was wrong. Glad you got it looked at. It probably would've gotten worse if you hadn't. Hope it gets well fast. : )
Please don't take any fluoroquinolones antibiotics, the side effects can be life altering. If you have to take an antibiotic take the oldest type they have available. Hope it feels better soon.
don't know if you have ever used a rattle paddle with your cows, but the sound of the beans rattling around in the paddle gets our cattle to move for us.

I think what is happening with the water tank is that the water is siphoning out after it is filled. You should take the hose out of the tank after it is filled.

While I totally get the whole harvest the steer idea, Bear would be perfect for a project for Jonah to train to be a work animal. He's so gentle and already so good on a halter. Maybe one of the new babies will be a boy? Also glad that your foot's not broken, and that it's "just" an infection. Add some garlic supplements and extra vitamin C and whatever else Beauty says to do. Blessings!

Have you considered artificial insemination so you don't have to keep a bull on the property? Bulls are so unpredictable and with so many small children in there with him as well as yourself, I was just wondering. I've used AI on a breeding herd of registered Longhorns and swear by it, plus you can pick and choose your bulls by genetics and build a stronger herd.
