Polet RA-82075 taking off on Runway 21 in gale force winds. Gusts of around 60mph made the main runway unusable. Ryanair 737's are usually the largest aircraft to use 21.
Excellent!!! Firstly, I've never seen any of the larger planes using 21(or 22 is it for taking off the other way from the same runway?). Secondly, great viewpoint. Did you see the flex on the end of the wings? Thirdly, well done to the pilot. He's still alive! that was some take off!
@jvagc Thanks for that. I can pick up PIK Tower here in Irvine but haven't heard 03 being used in a long time as work means I don't get to listen to the scanner during the day any more. I'm still really amazed by that take off. It's got to be the most spectacular I've ever seen from PIK! I wouldn't like to have smelled the cockpit afterwards, thats for sure. I wonder if the oxygen masks dropped down.....?
I've just watched that again. Bloody hell! That pilot must've needed a change of undies after that. I'd have loved to hear his radio transmission during this clip!

Excellent vid. Scary stuff.
excellent viewpoint...i work at prestwick and it still amazes me that these large aircraft get off the ground at all.

A very wobbly take off!
@SpuriousEmission It was quite a sight to see such a large aircraft use this runway. It's Runway 03 in the opposite direction.
Zero fucks where given about that 60mph wind.
