  • This lore episode focuses on the Bajoran Wormhole or the Celestial Temple as it is known to followers of the Prophets.
To a scientists it is an fascinating Kerr Object but to the Bajorans, it is far more than a vital link to a wider galaxy.
The Orbs, the Prophets and the Pah-Wraiths all influence the culture of Bajor and it's ahem... "about time" we took a look at that.
After this episode, we're moving on to the next chapter of STO.

    I have a theory.
The Prophets exist outside of space and time, so while in our time frame they had a long history with Bajor before Siskin discovered them from the Prophets point of view Sisko was their first contact with linear time.
When he first arrived it caused a split, those that viewed linear existence as too dangerous and needing to be destroyed and those that believed the could coexist. This can be seen in the first episode, some of them are very aggressive toward Sisko.
My theory is that in that first episode we see the entire battle of the Prophets. At the beginning they are split, but at the end of the episode we see less prophets and they are all positive towards him.
What I think is that even though Sisko only experience a few hours while in the Temple a massive battle was fought through time using Bajor and Sisko and by the end of that first episode they had cast the Cos tumojin (or however you spell it) and his followers out.
If we were to think from their perspective, everything that occurred throughout time on Bajor happened after Sisko met them
In the show the head Pah Wraith evil guy existed in multiple forms from their battle through time. It existed in the figure Dukat broke and in that tablet Sisko broke. As each battle failed they tried again but hopping through time
It’s a classic paradox, of effect preceding cause. They never knew of Sisko before the first episode but later were integral in his birth

In the Deep Space Nine 'relaunch' novels, we also get to learn of the Prophet's interest in the Mirror Universe and other realities, each of which they seek to locate an Emissary for...
Sisko's universe is referred to as the 'penitent' and the Mirror is the 'broken'.

@@luphone2781 Well, it's not very clear why Sisko is the 'penitent' - maybe because he disobeyed the Prophets regarding Kassidy, and several other things? But Mirror Sisko is the 'broken', because he died, meaning another Emissary had to be found, for that reality and it's Bajor.

4:10 loving the use of character card artwork from Star Trek timelines in this and the mirror universe history vid :)
INSTANTLY recognised all those characters from the games artwork.
For anyone who doesn’t know or hasn’t seen it before, timelines is a mobile device game, designed as a grinder to use a slowly regenerating energy to complete missions, completing missions allows the farming of items to craft gear which allows you to level up the collected crew, which allows for the attempt of more difficult missions.
The biggest draw was the introduction of many variants of characters not actually seen in canon, but continuing the same theme...for example in voyager there was a time Torres, janeway and tuvok were assimilated...in a similar design there is a collectable version of an assimilated Deanna troi, and a next generation era appearance assimilated Geordi...
It also in one weekly event explained the origins of the nexus...
If you haven’t seen it, give it a look :)

because the prophets are "of Bajor" i don't think the orbs went anywhere else. also the Dominion would be drastically different than what is portrayed if they also received versions of the orbs. Sisco said to them "you've set yourselves up as gods so now act like it." if they did that to bajor they also would have done that on the otherside of the Wormhole if they sent or that way also. it seems for some reason they chose a quadrant and stuck to it.

I really wonder if a sort of balance between 1stverse and mirrorverse are intended... if the terrannempire would have turned into a sucessful quasi-federation... would then the federation automatically have to become a military dictatorship and vive versa? If so... the avoidance of a fall of the federation might have automatically resoluted into a reformationnof the terran empire in the mirrorverse... given the mirrorverse is indeed a true mirrorverse and not just another possible parralel dimension.

Interesting stuff, to be honest I never liked the bajoran wormhole's role in the dominion war, the whole teleporting away dominion ships, I still think that was a cop out given it called upon a supernatural favour to resolve a situation then within the pragmatic politics that intertwined with the conflict (such as how -garak- sisko got the romulans to war)
I think the dominion conflict overshadowed the bajoran wormhole and that they were both significant elements to the plot butthe show could really only focus on one.

One of STO's better Featered Series arcs, The 2300, deals with that specific plot hole.
Now known as Lost Dominion, this arc deals with that plot hole and the ramifications of the end of the Dominion War. Originally taking place after the Borg content Rick's gonna be going through, it was shoehorned in with the Cradasian material and is now separate, but contact-locked till end game levels.

In the case of the prophets intervention it could be seen as a pragmatic decision as all Sisko asked for was something to buy time for the other gambits to pay off. Plus for all it's worth the favor was earned by Sisko since the beginning of DS9.

The so called "Orbs" don't look like a crystal ball 🔮hence the name Orb for a circular object not a crystal like crystal shaped like an hourglass ⏳I personally think that Star Trek and many other American sci-fi shows need to check the names of an object before they use it but by "sensing" this soul "Pagh" effectively make the Bajorans a Telepathic species?

The Bajorans were a great race to add to the Star Trek universe. In almost every way they challenged the conventions of a Federation trapped in it's own ivory tower. Not only in challenging the agnostic worldview, but learning "love thy enemy" isn't so simple when they rape your people and salt your planet. The Federation grew as much from adoption of the Bajorans as the other way around.

Of course, CE is also used in _Mobile Suit Gundam SEED_ , and AD in _Mobile Suit Gundam 00_ . But everyone knows the main timeline for the _Gundam_ franchise is that of the Universal Century (UC).
