Whitney looked so incredibly beautiful, as always, and seemed so relax here. To hear her speak so lovingly and eloquently of Elvis and the moment she encountered him was so sweet. I can imagine Whitney as a cute little girl looking at him in such awe. R.I.P. to Whitney and Elvis!

I believe, just my personal belief that if Bobby Brown had never entered her life she would still be with us. Whitney was so beautiful and her voice was equal to her looks! Boy could she sing! I think Bobby was jealous. Whitney Houston had a very strong legacy. Bobby Brown was ok but as an artist Whitney's talent well exceeded Bobby Brown's. Just like Elvis and Whitney, there will never be anyone come close to either. Rest easy Whitney and Elvis. Both of you are missed greatly!

@@WAGNERONE1978 after watching a documentary it seems like Bobby just added to the stew that was brewing. Her own family got her into drugs before Bobby. Her own father exploited her financially in the start of her career. She was NEVER a innocent victim in the process. Sometimes fame & success doesn’t bring out the best in a human. All I can say is I thank her for the years of amazing entertainment and sacrifices . I wished she had more mental health support back in the day.

@@melissas9245 Whitney was an adult. Nobody is responsible for her adult decisions but her. She was an amazing talent. There is no need to place the blame on other people without at least considering the time period. Doing drugs back in the 1980s was quite the norm so NO her family did NOT "get her into drugs" and drugs were not a big deal back then! It was the norm for celebs back then.

I have seen and read hundreds saying the same thing as Whitney about being in the presence of Elvis. I was in Vegas, up close and personal, and what she said is completely true. Mesmerizing charisma. I have never experienced anything like it, and I have seen many entertainers. He seemed to effect everyone in a room he was in, anywhere he was, all of his short life.

I think the main reason Ray Charles didn't like Elvis is because he couldn't see him. I don't see how it could be possible to dislike this man. Tony Orlando accidentally sat on my hand for a second at a concert a LONG time ago when I was super young. That was my first 'brush' with (against) a famous, popular person. I've met or closely encountered many since. The most impressive was Maynard Jackson; who actually gave me a potentially valuable business reference on a card....that was washed in the laundry (just one of the huge missed opportunities I shat away in MY life). There are VERY few people of 'note' that I would care to meet or really see today. A few old Holywood folk still here. A few athletes and musicians. The former/next president. All in all the 'mystique 'of celebrity and 'fame' has diminished greatly in the modern age. But....without a SINGLE doubt...the main personage, entity, life force being that I would want to have SEEN, let ALONE met....would be the King. Elvis Aaron. It's almost unimaginable to contemplate the effect of seeing one of my ACTUAL superheroes as a kid (Ali, Kineval) in person. I think of the Yaphet Kotto line in 'Alien'. The dude was "HUGE... BIG!"

Quincy and Ray's insults towards elvis were because he was a white boy.
Everything Ray said about elvis was false, same thing with Quincy.
Racists must lie. That's what they do.
Elvis presley's soul, depth and diversity are amazing. It's what set him apart from the rest.
So when two famous blacks lie about elvis presley, they display their racist hate for all the world to see.

@@bradhuskersI don’t know about racists, but I know that they’re both two of the most jealous people ever. Charles was jealous of the success that Elvis had as a white man “singing black” in the era that they were in, and Jones was CRAZY jealous of Prince and his abilities. Both men were caught on tape ripping both Elvis and Prince out of sheer jealousy.

She was only performing with Elvis for his first season in Vegas (July 31st - August 28th 1969). She left the group so she could take care of her daughter. The rest of the group performed with Elvis right till the end, the last concert being in Indianapolis on june 26th, 1977.

Yes Elvis would agree with you they added a lot to his performance. He told that to members of the media at his 1969 press conference when they asked him about adding Sweet Inspirations to his band.
As others here pointed out there's pictures of them together on the internet and also audio where Cissy Houston can be heard on his 1969 live recordings.
She said when she had to leave the band so she could spend more time as a mother raising her kids Elvis was very understanding and always told her whenever she wanted to come back he would make a spot for her in the group.
Her husband John Houston (Whitney's father) and Elvis got along great too.
Cissy said John hung around a lot during that time frame and Elvis and he bonded a little bit.
She went on to say years later some of the connections her and John made in the music industry through Elvis came in handy when Whitney started singing as it helped them make some phone calls to help promote Whitney.
Just like everyone else that knew Elvis, the Houstons thought very highly of him

This wouldnt come from a "racist" they used to call Elvis the pelvis and dont forget, Elvis was part native american!
