- If Bulma chose to train like Goku, would she become a martial artist or would she use her smarts to make herself into the Iron Man of Dragon Ball Z?
WHAT IF BULMA TRAINED? Thanks to Doll Comics on Twitter and various users on the what if streams, I got excited to try and speculate about the idea of what if Dragon ball decided to train and use her smarts at the same time to be almost as strong as Goku was. Captain Ginyu has now "reluctantly" joined forces with the likes of the Dragon Team and Bulma. In this timeline, Future Trunks comes back to help, but it's not Vegeta's son! Instead, the plan is to stop Doctor Gero before he can make Android 17 and 18 - does the plan work and what would happen next? Find out today!

Absolutely! Nice job putting that Marvel reference in there. I'm actually interested to see you do What-Ifs outside of the realm of Dragon Ball, as much as I love these. I think it would really expand on the channel's content on the whole. Perhaps we could see What-Ifs in video game franchises like Metroid for example.

@@TheWarmachine375 It might depend if their version would be compatible or not but also it could be an any 2 work which could potentially mean an even stronger Cell as they'd probably be more advanced cyborgs than 17 and 18. Possibly.
Is it weird that I actually kinda want to see Cell absorb Bulma as a substitute for one of the androids? Be kind of interesting to see if that happened and now the group has to not only beat Cell but also try to save their smartest member.

I'm pretty sure the others are going to realize very quickly what happened when they see Bulma and Yamcha next and they are outputting 0 ki, even when sparring.

-bulma has the intelligence to reverse engineer what ever dna cell may have in him, and maybe boost him with some of here DNA making herself the dominant dna signature for Celine to be born from.
I get irked by this trope in media where just because someone's a "genius scientist" they can recode DNA, and create AI and engineer sophisticated even seemingly supernatural technological marvels like super mech suits and gravity chambers. That's not how being a genius works.

I feel like Masako has made Tien relevant in a fair few of his what-ifs already.
@@Ilikebats123 True, but none that revolve around his added relevancy like stories with other characters like the Bulma and Chi-Chi What-Ifs, where they take a major primary roll and their changes directly effect the outcome of the story. The closest Tenshinhan has come to that has been his change in the 'What If Goku Won the 21st Tournament' story, but he is still more of a side note than a major drive in those stories.
You know... a twist that might have been interesting to consider would have been to have Bulma kidnap Gero from his lab before he'd have any time to react or reply. Bring him to a fast food restaurant and try to talk it out with him. See where that would lead.
Also, what about 16's pod?

I don't know if anyone else has said/thought about it, but with Cell in the picture and two entirely new, improved androids on the loose (Yamcha and Bulma), what's stopping him from absorbing them and getting a bigger upgrade/more advanced evolution to what he had in the original? Hell, what's stopping him from absorbing both 17/18 AND "Cy-Bulma"/"Yam-Droid"?
If - big if here - Cell just gets Bulma and Yamcha (and either can't locate 17/18 or simply dismisses them as inferior) and becomes "Plus-Ultra Cell" or whatever as a result, then Gohan (or whoever it'll be going apeshit in this time line) is going to have their work cut out for them.
Depends on how much they're improved over 17 and 18. They've got the infinity engines, which would put them ahead, since they already know more about using their ki, but the rest would depend on what Bulma could improve on in Gero's designs, and how much the greater skill level would impact things during the absorption.
# 001 Kinda brings a whole new depth to this situation huh? Almost as if this is sort of the direction Masako's is going. Super Saiyan 2 or whoever is going to have to kick Ultra Perfect Cell 4 times in the gut to spit out enough anborgs to power him down.
I'm thinking that Bulma's desire for power is gonna bite her in this way. She and Yamcha will be absorbed and make Cell far stronger than he was in the original timeline. But the Dragon Team also have a benefit over the original timeline. Specifically, it's not just the Goku (and sometimes Gohan) show anymore. Piccolo is relevant. Gohan can still become strong. They have Alt Trunks. If they aren't stupid about having a 1v1 tournament, then they can work together to overcome Cell's greater power. SSJ1 Goku, SSJ1 Vegeta, SSJ1 Gohan, Super Namekian Piccolo, SSJ1 Alt Trunks. That's 5v1. They should be able to make a good fight out of it. Oh, and let's not forget Ginyu. They could even pose together.
I think GInyu should still also have armor ability. Kamen Rider 1 and 2 were both cyborgs and transformed into armor. Make him into a transformation device, even android bulma might need a boost once in a while. I am very glad you got back to this. I have been waiting for so long. I want more Tokusatsu stuff in my DBZ.
Nice idea, could be the Android answer to a transformation. The Saiyans have their golden glow, freeza has his forms, and now the androids, or maybe even some of the human fighters, have the equivalent of the iron man 2 briefcase armor/Genos armor from OPM

I wonder if Cell can achieve his perfect form by absorbing Android Bulma and Android Yamcha?
Man I missed this story, one my favorites currently running! I'm a little torn about the android procedure Bulma and Yamcha are going through. On the one hand it makes perfect sense she would make use of Gero's technology considering how much a power boost it creates, seeing is how it turned two teenagers that were merely baseline humans into something that eclipsed the likes a Frieza and base super Sayian back in those days and now two trained powers are about to benefit from that upgrade. On the other hand the suits Bulma made were the iconic piece of this what-if that we got to see evolve and allowed her to transcend her limits and not only become a more powerful fighter but a different kind as well, something we never had in the original canon. Seeing as the suits will be effectively abandoned now that Bulma and Yamcha are going to become androids, I'm rather sad to see them go...
Plot twist: With Dr. Gero out of the way and no one willing to activate 17, 18 or 16, not to mention finish 19, Bulma and Yamacha become the new threats for the world. UNTIL CELL SHOWS UP!
And in a further twist, in order to counter these threats, Kanbu returning from the future finds himself needing to activate the 17 and 18 this timeline - and finds that the monsters he fought in the future have to become his allies in the present.
Okay so obviously having 17 & 18 just in their pods in capsule corp is gonna make it pretty easy for Cell to nab them but I also had this thought in your other what if that turned Yamcha into an Android and especially now here. If the Capsule Corp Cyborg are built from the same blueprints used to make 17 & 18 but with better stuff, could cell absorb Yamcha or Bulma in this scenario to still achieve his more powerful forms?
This could especially work out if the gang realise what Cell is after and then have a second moral dilemma of whether to destroy the androids that a) didn't do anything bad in this timeline yet and b) haven't done *anything* in this timeline yet.

Nice job Masako, though I can only see this situation ending poorly. If there is one thing I learned from the “What if Goku married Bulma” timeline is that lying to people close to you tends to trigger the universe to retaliate with a karmic bite in the rectum. Also who knows what old protocols or data was left by Gero in the Android that could harm Bulma and Yamcha if they go through with this “upgrade” if the man our in lateral self district devices, I don’t think malware was above his pay grade.
The former karmic boot up the ass will be worn by Cell. The latter is not so much of an issue given bulma has the source code as well as unfiltered schematics. Kinda hard to hide boobytraps when you have both and know what you're doing. Plus bulma isn't reusing any of the actual parts s much as using that as a new baseline to iterate off of. Smaller. More effeciant. Better quality supply chain.

@@cyruslightz there is no Cell-X, moving on. Okay, I do want Cell X for one reason. Giant Kaiju Fight. I want Bulma and Goku to pilot the Mega Saiya-Buster. Imagine it, Goku and Bulma hooked up together like the Jeager Pilots from Pacific Rim. If we’re ending in the Cell Saga then this, this is how is should end. Goku and Bulma piloting the Mega Saiya-Buster, the Saiya-Buster emitting a Golden and Blue Hue as it rushes towards Cell-X decking him in the Snozz while down below everyone else be fighting Cell Jrs - and then towards the end they all give the energy to the Saiya-Buster as it preforms the biggest, Baddest, Boldest Spirit Bomb that hurls Cell-X straight into Space never to be seen again.
Again- I saw the thumbnail and thought "Man- it's always impressive that DBZ characters can keep they're blood inside them even cut outside", then I saw the new thumbnail and was like "ah- there we go" XD
Let's just say, sad to see the Saiyabuster in retirement. Maybe she can still break it out as a multiplier in the future?
I have the feeling that Vegeta (and maybe Goku) still end up fighting two androids because the whole reason they trained got taken away?

Although, maybe it should be renamed to "What if Bulma was a Z-Fighter?" It's basically it.
Vegeta, Kambu and Goku are gonna loose it when they find out what Yamcha and Bulma did. It's gonna be funny for us in the audience, but not a good time for the parties involved. Especially Kambu.

The question is... when did Gero actually mod himself in the original timeline? If it happened before this point, they wouldn't have stood a chance.
the running theory is that it would of been fairly recent, after all by this point he was honing the technology he would be using on himself with 19. Given he goes by android 20. This also explains why it took 3 years, 17 and 18 where failures in control so he would of had to start on 19 and then once 19 was ready work on making the parts he would use for himself and then install them which would likely take quite a bit of time even for him.
@@KenshiImmortalWolf But it took 3 years even in Trunks' original timeline, and he didn't mod himself there. Though that extra time could be why the twins were so different between the timelines. The conditioning and reprogramming to try to make them obedient, though a failure, left them much less willing to stop.
@@danieltilson4053 the difference was trunks he caused gero to panic and try to get 17 and 18 out early..which they were unruly and decided to instead make 19 and make himself 20, leaving the rest as back ups

Honestly I'm surprised she hadn't tried reverse engineering that in the actual timeline. Beyond powering a fighter like 17 or 18, using that as a power source for... oh... a SHIP would've been amazing.
Then again for all we know she did and it was never focused on because Goku Time.
Why? She probably didn't have a need for it, nor was biomechanical technology exactly in her field of expertise. Both Bulma and Dr. Brief were blown away by Gero's technology, some of it being things they had never seen before.
@@Kruegernator123 Bulma is literally the person that have made a time machine in a destroyed world, yeah it was her adult version but i wouldn't say it's somehow mind blowing for her to make or understand how gero's technology work especially with the bluesprints and such, plus gero was working in a cave mostly alone and away from everyone with limited resources meanwhile bulma has the entire capsule corporation some help from her father + she's rich so she can pretty much get any resources she want for the most part.
While it's true she never did biomechanical stuff before i wouldn't say she wouldn't able to learn it or understand how it work if she has at least some info of how that type of stuff worked (aka bluesprints, documentation and etc) as for didn't have a need for it i wouldn't say so, if a world or universal threat appear a infinity engine can be very useful and since in this what if she's training a lot, infinity engine also means she can train as much as she want without getting tired which is also very nice, and while she probably wouldn't know about the tournament of power if the tournament still happen this would also help her on the long run there IF she participate since she wouldn't get tired just like the androids.

Masako, can you do a What If for Tien? You could incorporate his background of being descended from a race of three eyed aliens and have him have a special ability or something that rivals the Saiyans. Have him and Chiotzu be more relevant in Dragon Ball Z.
The what if Goku didn’t win comes kinda close to that.
There's what if the humans were androids and what if humans got zenkai boosts by Salad Saiyan.
So I'm assuming Cell's gonna attack Capsule Corp because 17 and 18 are there.

Is there a reason why we haven't touched on this in over a year? I really enjoyed this what if.
Here's hoping part 11 won't be much further off. I have to wonder if this hasn't been written into a corner. With Bulma and Yamcha getting the cyborg treatment, they'll effectively be the strongest in the team since they can stack kaioken on top of super saiyan tier power.
I know that Cell showing up to this timeline is bad for literally everyone but at the very least it gives Goku and Vegeta an outlet so they don't accidentally blow up the planet themselves.
I didn't expect Bulma to turn herself into a cyborg, or Android if we continue to use the translation we're used to, but it would be great to keep her in the fighting ring for a long time.
I wonder if you could find a way to keep 17 and 18 in some way. Bulma would be able to match, if not exceed, them after she turns herself into an Android so it's not like they'd be able to run rampant unopposed.
I wonder how Beerus would react to Bulma with her cybernetic enhancements when she objects to him wrecking her birthday party. I think he might toy with her like he did with that dinosaur alien, amused that a human managed to come so far.
I think the biggest question is now...... do Captain Ginyu and Bulma play each other in Minesweeper and is there a digital billiard table ??

Y'know, I could see someone realizing that reprogramming the androids would make both sides happy. The androids aren't a threat, but Goku and Vegeta still get to fight them.
You know, there is one of Bulma's inventions from the Dragon Ball story that im honestly surprised Masako hasnt revived for this story that could have had very interesting implications in past parts but could still be very useful going forwards; Her Shrink-Watch, which she initially used in the original to ride the Nimbus with Goku since she couldnt ride it herself, but which she ultimately traded to Roshi to use his submarine. Bulma in this story is basically the Dragon Ball worlds version of Iron Man, imagine giving her the ability to also be the Dragon Ball worlds version of Ant-Man as well. I can see the Shrink-Watch being very useful when Buu starts absorbing people.
