I never got to meet my dad. He passed away when he was 24 years old. I was only one year old. I sure wish that I could have known him, but I listen to people talk about him and it fills my heart and I do miss you, my daddy.❤❤❤
The guy bawling on here had just lost his father and this song was suggested by a subscriber. It hit him hard. It was a hard reaction to watch especially to those of us who have also lost their fathers. I still cry when I hear it.
@@ariesdawn3148 I lost my daddy in 16 miss him every day so many things I wish I said but I think he knows well that’s what i say to me self anyway best man i ever new or ever will but my son his grandson with same name sake Roy 1v is a close second and a lot a years ahead of him to serpass the old guy but as fer me im content to watch and see and mentor when he needs it … never new how hard or fun or rewarding the job of a dad is now with a 30 year old daughter with 2 kids and 25 years old son im still blown away by the journey joy ups and downs the whole package…. Ghe day I turned 50 im 53 now but that day daddy whisper in my ear you will never know it all or be right even third of the time relax and enjoy is the day i let go of sum most of my regrets concerning him and truly started to allow my self to appreciate my family more Daddy still schooling me from other side….. I been trying to write this since yesterday just now was able to finish it through my crying ass face idk who u are or why im saying this to you but thanks man see ya
I remember having to tell my dad to go. I cried so much, he didn't want to go, but I had to remind him that I was the crybaby of the family, at the age of 53 I was broken but when he said that he was tired, I knew. Love you daddy 1930-2013
I have a mom and a dad but I never had a relationship with them my left my dad when I was 8 then left me when I was 11 and my dad kicked me out at 13 homeless till 14 went to live with my moms brother and I left my his house at 17 jumped from place to place till i was 23 when I moved in with my now wife I own my own home now and my wife and I have 2 beautiful children I am her for them like I never had I love them like I never felt. So, to the ones that have or had great parents, you're blessed I will be that to mine so they can be better to there's.
I started using this song as my dad's health declined. I knew I couldn't cry Infront of him, so I'd hold it in. But I knew this wouldn't be healthy long term. So any time it felt to hard I'd listen and cry loudly without any holding back. Now that dad's died it still helps. What I'm saying is grief during and after is hard . It's important to find a way to release it when you can. Love to anyone going through it.
James Blunt is ex British army intelligence and served in Kosovo. He’s trained in psychological tactics and has mentioned that it serves him well when making “weepy” music video
James' dad Captain Charles Blount (yes that's the actual family name) was ill and he wrote this song for him because they thought he'd die, Capt Blount was in the studio when he recorded this and there wasn't a dry eye except the captain's who said 'why is everyone crying, I've not died yet' 😂
All song are always deep rooted if you truly listen,a cry for help and only true friends can see beyond a doubt the help that is needed and its never necessary monetary but just a listening ear and a direction to step into. Now those who give advice that truly give of themselves without any thing in return,is a true friend who will always be there,so if you just have that one friend you are the luckiest person on this planet.
I cry every time I see this, because all I ever wanted, was my father too love me. He couldn't, and I had to say good bye to him over the phone, after all the years of his rejection of me, all the years of trying to understand why . I still wanted to hear him tell me why he couldn't love me. When he got put in the hospital I told him id come be there with him,, again he rejected me.I later I found out , his step daughter had waited three weeks to get him to the hospital, knowing he was very sick. He willed his self home to watch over his wife. My step sister, would go on to murder my father, and her mother his wife, my step mother, She did this too still his wealth, and she got away with it. I don't have time to tell the whole story. But I'll tell you, I still wish he could of loved me, because I will always love him😢😢😢😢
R.I.P Dad Miss You Daily! I want my 3 sons to play this at my wake/Funeral. What Respect for the One who made you, You! And of course my Ma see you both in Heaven ❤️
I never got to really know my dad. He didn’t let me get close. I lost him years ago, my sister told my mom not to tell me when he died. I found out from my wife who had a friend that was a nurse at his side when he died. I was adopted but never got love. I wasn’t the child they wanted me to be, I was just a “normal “ kid….just the usual stuff boys get into….but not to his way I guess, he called me names, woke me up by dumping water on my face, making me clean it up…. Still miss him though……….now I’m turning 77 soon….I’m the only family I have…my wife and I are married 54 years but, I miss my dad,and my mom. I wish I could go back……This song makes me very sad, but I can’t stop listening to it!
I love you all and I am proud of you all to show your Emotions for this song this is what our world needs People loving and caring for each other and this World That God has given us ❤️
You see the ladies on these and you know they like the song and all, but the only ones that are truly getting the full impact are the men. Every guy feels exactly what this song is saying. On all levels.
They need the Fathers perspective. A man, not ready to give the Love away, and have his son hold it for him, quite yet. Has still some time, to cherish.
The need of our species to heal from the very process of human recovery governance...remains a deep and profoundly complex grief...the arc of current recovery, has left and leaves survivors incomplete and that's not recovery
I just buried my youngest son at the age of 42 and he has an older brother and every time I hear this song I think about how strong people listening to the song have to be. Everyone I know that has heard it are crying like babies me as well
I can’t listen to this song. Not because of my father, who was an alcoholic SOB, but because it reminds me of how much I failed as a father to my kids 😢
He did not write the song, James Blunt wrote it. For his father, who at the time was suffering from final stage kidney failure. Happily he got a transplant just in time.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 you can hear him in pain when he sings this song you can feel it😢😢😢😢😢😢
Love James Blunt!❤

I lost all my family this song breaks me😢 its so beautiful
Anyone who lost a parent to dementia feels this. I had to retire to care for my 86 year old father and protect my mother. It's beyond sad. 😢
I remember having to tell my dad to go. I cried so much, he didn't want to go, but I had to remind him that I was the crybaby of the family, at the age of 53 I was broken but when he said that he was tired, I knew. Love you daddy 1930-2013

Very powerful song it really reaches in deep and grabs your heart
Heart ripped out but its re built when you understand !!!!!❤❤❤❤
How could he not get an award for this? We need to get him on stage soon to sing this moving tribute

Miss my dad so much
That's the one thing that I hope I've done is make my dad and mom proud miss them so bad
Anyone who has lost a parent … a Dad … will feel this to your core!
Lost my mother when I was 12
This digs deep
Great song ❤❤❤❤❤

Such a beautiful voice I love it
The video was the first time he sung this song for his dad who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Thankfully, his dad is healthy again.
This song takes down all my walls and leaves me broken

Como se llama esta cancion
I remember that guy sang this on American idol and he was a Samoan I thought he wrote this song about his dad but I guess James blunt wrote it
I looked up his audition, he said he was going to sing Monsters by James Blunt.
Who's your daddy?????
Grown men being manly with their emotions.
So sad 😭
Which song are you talking about?
The young man who wrote this song sang it on his audition for American Idol. He was amazing. EVERYONE was crying.
No, James Blunt is the writer and originally singer of the song. Not that Haiwaian candidate of AGT.
He did not write the song, James Blunt wrote it. For his father, who at the time was suffering from final stage kidney failure. Happily he got a transplant just in time.
