Is this video a joke? I mean are you really scared of the movie or are you joking about? And I don't hate the video I enjoy it and I also enjoyed the movie.
Yo, all jokes aside, the penguin being choked by the garbage scared the living daylights out of me, and I forced my mom to cut every single plastic bottle things. I still do it to this day out of habit.
Nick: This movie is only for the toughest of souls. Salty Spitoon Guy: How tough are you? Me: How tough am i? I watched happy feet with 0 potty breaks and I only screamed in terror once. Salty Spitoon Guy: Oh um right this way sir.
Hero Huntr try me, this movie was my favorite, as well as the sequel, and I laugh at everyone’s pathetic souls at the fact they can barely withstand the unholy power of these movies *REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
I watched this movie with 0 bathroom breaks and didn't scream at all. However, I did jump from surprise with each predatory attack and I gasped in shock with several other shocking surprises too.
I mean, all jokes aside, I actually found the zoo/aquarium scene pretty unnerving. It felt so surreal next to the other stuff that had happened before.
Their teeth aren’t built for clean cuts like those of other mammalian carnivores. While lions and other big cats, for example, mostly kill their prey by going for the throat (except for jaguars, which just bite through their prey’s skull and shatter their braincases, the badasses), essentially suffocating them and giving them a quick, almost merciful death, leopard seal teeth are more designed for sifting krill. In other words, it can take *minutes* for an actual kill, and penguins suffer the whole way, while deer and wildebeests take only a few moments, and it’s relatively painless.
I remember being deeply disturbed as a child after watching this. I told my little sister it was scary and she laughed at me. To this day she laughs at me.
Same, I love this movie, it's my childhood cartoons films, and I still loving it to this very moment, and hearing someone said this is horror or demonic is really not okay with me
I love happy feet so much! It has a lot of messages in it AND the legendary robin williams was in this movie and one of the elephant seals was voiced by Steve Irwin! This movie has great animation. At some points I thought it looked real!
realistic animation is not great animation. These penguins are meant to be so realistic that they aren't expressive at all. And good voice acting never ever saved a movie. Messages? The only message here was "multiply", other than a few forced and completely pointless environmental commentaries. It's a big mess that fails in everything.
The aquarium scene scared the living daylights out of me! The first time i saw it i was like : what a cute penguin movie! But when that dreaded scene came on... I was freaked out!
In all seriousness, this movie is really deep and has a ton of symbolism/allegory for religious shunning due to someone being gay or autistic, or simply too different from their community. You even have the father who blames himself for how his son turned out and is the one who sticks to the method of letting Mumble be exiled while his wife is heart broken about it. Mumble's childhood is very implied to be difficult. He's seen as different and incapable of following the methods of his society, and is almost even denied the right to "graduate" with the other youth. From day 1, his father worries about how he acts, how he dances and sounds compared to the penguins around him. He feels self conscious and keeps the temporary belief that Mumble will grow out of it. But you can tell that as time goes on, he feels guilty until he can't run from it anymore, and reluctantly confesses that he dropped Mumble's egg which is why he's "all messed up" . And yet... Even as much as he is guilty, he can't bring himself to stand up for his own son due to the judgements of others. He lets himself stay in the dark and keep the senseless idea that his son needs to fix himself and even "repent". This movie is extremely layered in implications. It's crazy
It left me unsettled as a child. It and it’s sequels. It left a strange feeling with me that never left until I got older, but I always remembered it and it’s creepy imagery. I understand why now but, to think it actually scarred me as a child. Disturbingly remarkable

When I was little I was TERRIFIED of this movie. It freaked me out so much when we first went to watch it that we had to leave the theater. What didn't help was...I was deathly afraid of theaters-
How a penguin supposed to freak you out didn't freak me out.
Robin Williams’ character as the Hispanic penguin was my favorite 😂
Sadly, he died though. 2014 is a tragic year.

In the opening of this video, I recognize the reading from a one star comment review about how this movie is scary
I'm pretty sure this movie was the reason why I thought emperor penguins were 5-6ft tall when I was a kid
