That peg is crucial!! Some other notes.) the cutter has multiple positions that correspond to each 3M width so if your tape is out past the blade it either wasn’t flush when you passed under the peg or the roll of sheeting is uneven 2) the teeth on the plastic blade are finer but sometimes the paper blade works better at keeping the roll from slipping 3) to get a clean tear on 72” & 99” plastic it’s essential to make sure the plastic flap is pushed up to allow the blade to make contact 4) if the tape or sheeting gets out of alignment simply tear a few inches off to make a clean edge.
I’ve found loading the sheeting first works better b/c you can pull the tape forward after it passes under the peg.
Finally it only works effectively when you pull with your right hand , ideally at about face/shoulder height. Any other orientation results in wonky lines & wasted material.

my blade guard really overhangs the blade "bigtime" , making is really difficult to tear film. I think I will cut it back a bit. Anyone have the same problem? Several times the scotch blue tore diagonally starting on the inside edge. I noticed in this video, the blade teeth are not covered.

My 3m tool didnt come with cutter! Guessing that's an additional attachment and would have saved me so much time. Thank you for sharing and even more cool that you actually went back and updated a video as you continue to learn that's the way! 👊🏼

Essential tools for my work. Keep 3 of them running regularly and the efficiency can't be beat for the money.

Now that it was explained better compared to the actual instructions. I think it will do me great service. I am a visual learner, so the U tube videos help amazingly.

I thought you were going to describe all the features of the tape gun? That didn’t happen in your previous video either.
What I would like to know is what the two plastic molded ridges are for? It looks like the one on the side of a Gatorade 5g water dispenser.

And the plastic is really clingy. I still tape the bottom but the cling ones help the walls not balloon out

One last thing, make sure you only buy rolls of sheeting that completely flush at the end or it will snag when you try to unfold it

1000% true, I gotta return two rolls because of that. You'd think paying premium for 3M you wouldn't have issues but nah.
