Later, Frank contacted me asking if I would be interested in driving his Lotus Exige 360 Cup for comparison. Obviously I said yes!
For some reason, I could not get to properly heel&toe in this car in comparison to the previous gen Exige, so I can only assume the chassis is definitely different. Or just simple driving excuses from my side.

Lotus seems to be gaining a lot more popularity lately, and seeing videos like these really shows why. They look incredible fun to drive.
My friend has let me drive both his Elise's and even the his first one, with 120hp K series engine was fast on back roads and brilliant fun but it did eat head gaskets and exploded in the end but the Toyota engine one he has now, has been faultless and is much quicker with only 30hp more.

It must be because modern cars are becoming more and more numb and less like drivers cars. It’s all about comfort, luxury and practicality, cars made for snobs, not for people who like to drive. Look at what the 911 has become. It disgusts me.
@@xissburg I kinda wish they bring back the 912 as a base model. Like ultra base, stripped out budget, with an N/A version of the Cayman boxer 4. Granted, not exactly a 911, but would be good for purists 😁

People forget that it’s one of the “most” comfortable/streetable race cars for the road. The focus is on performance and you don’t pay more for less sound-proofing. It’s engineered for lightweight from day one.

I absolutely love this channel and Robert’s channel as well. Some of the highlights of my day when you guys post videos. It’s my dream to visit the ring and go for a ride with Apex. It’ll definitely be a long time beginning disabled and unable to work.

I have great memories of driving my Lotus Elise on the Nürburgring over 20 years ago. It was snowing too and the track was open. No ABS or TC on the MK 1. Scary!

@@timlamein9637 haha it’s frustrating isn’t it! But then again 199bhp and 1,240kg was always going to struggle against 355bhp and 1,100kg. He didn’t get away as much as I expected in the twisties, could still see him in the distance until Eiskurve

You cant heel and toe in touring mode. Also drops the rev limit, has understeer control, traction control, stability control, the full compliment of nanny aids reigning the car in. Different beast in race mode.
No clue why the owner apparently didnt know or mention it whatsoever.

@@WilliamLevesqueineX exactly :-). I totally forgot, which is a little embarassing as I never use tour mode on track myself. Guess it is not that noticable when you are in the passenger seat. In the drivers seat you will feel it immediately 😊

I was watching the Mighty Cars Mods video about their lotus and they said that lotus's have a way higher skill ceiling than other track cars and now I can definitely see that!

I have a sore neck now from trying to duck below the windshield header to see better. I thought it was running pretty quickly until the Corvette and the other cars blew by and disappeared pretty quickly. I’m sure their horsepower ratings were much more than 360.👍👍
It is a heavily modified Z06 with 500-600 WHP😉 Its always going to pull away from a 360 Cup on the straights, especially uphill. In the turns it could be a different story.
Here it is!
Regarding heel&toe: the other car had a steering wheel adaptor, wich moved the wheel a bit more into the cabin, so you had more room for your knees. I think that's what made the difference. I'm also struggling with heel&toe in my car, wich doesn't have an adaptor, because of limited space for my knees. There are also different kits for the pedals itself on the market, to allow the driver to tune the positions for easier heel&toe.
Misha I thought it was a brilliant lap, especially considering it was in a car you were almost completely unfamiliar with & having trouble with the pedals & yes I'd like to see you really give it the beans with race mode on.
I am glad Misha beeps the horn too on the poorly placed Lotus horn on the steering wheel. Do it all the time!

Looks you had more fun in the lighter K20 version. That one you had to wring out more. This V6 sounds easier, but it looked more imposing. Stronger, faster, torquier, bigger, heavier. But didn't you dare more using the high revs and the light weight?

C6Z weighs 3,000lbs, can fit 305 front and 345 rear tires, and is running headers that put it at at least 500whp. Add heads, and cam and you're at 600whp and 3,000lbs. Either way, still going to murder a 360 Cup

The 380 is a different model in the Exige range. Both the 360 and 380 are now discontinued. You can still get the 350, 410 and 430.

Exige S3s: track cars that aren't actually that fast on track. Exige S2s are usually quicker on track, as is a GT4 , a 4.0 GTS probably just as fast too if not quicker.
