  • I have restored a couple of these already, but someone may not have seen one tore apart, this Craftsman ratchet is in great shape, I thought I paid too much for it at first, but it was in excellent condition on the inside, so a little polish on the outside and I have a great Craftsman ratchet!!!!!!!!

Really enjoy your videos. I have rebuilt many and still enjoy watching you do it! I just like seeing someone else who takes pride in restoring these beauties.

Thank you, and thank you for watching this red neck stumble through my video!

Nice job on the rachet. Have three of this type in 3/8 and 1/4. My favorite Craftsman is the design that predated this one from the 70s.

I love the quick release (3rd gen) ratchets too. Built like tanks.

I had faith in you. It turned out great. $10 well spent. Can you still buy the guts for those if you get one that needs it. Nicely done DJ 😊

I have what looks like the identical ratchet I bought sometime in the 80's or 90's. It slips and jams. Of course there was no Sears around when it failed, so I just chucked it in the drawer with other stuff. I was going to take it to Lowes and get a replacement (I keep forgetting) but I'm going to give her a go at seeing if it's just gummed up first. I like things I can fix.

Let me know how it turns out, but I think you might have a broken tooth in it!

Nice job. I would have given $2 as they go for $10 around here at garage sales every week in like new shape.

It is amazing how prices vary across the county!

Looks great DJ. I would've paid $10 for it because i know how to do what you did to it. Plus if you think about it you can't buy a new Chinese made Craftsman 1/2" ratchet for $10.

Shoot $10 ain't bad...a little elbow grease and it's as good as new! Better than all the new ChiCom ones.
