The Disgaea series probably holds some kind of record, for being the most creative and craziest with their library of attacks. They make such good use of the default sprites, making movement believable, or downright comical on the best possible ways. I especially love when they do special artwork for the attack, like 7:32 , 9:11 , 11:18 , 12:48 Really, though? No triple combo with Laharl, Etna & Flonne? NIS, please. 🤔
That last one with Priere and how she turned back into her nun/human self when she went into the light side was...it was nice. But the best one was Father Daughter Laser Beam Attack.

D4 is the only game where the second main character was not a girl, despite having the biggest female cast. And dam that combination beam ending from Zetta and Petta was hearth melting.
I don't play Disgaea but is this how flashy they do the attacks in the series? This is just the perfect amount of flashiness and I love it. Too bad that I don't have the patience of playing strategy/tactical RPGs 😅
To be fair, disgaea is so brutally stupid, it has very little in common with traditional SRPG's. You can brute force 90% of the game (I usually go through the story with the main character only, because it's possible). So even without the patience you would need for tradional SRPG's like fire emblem and the likes, one can easily play the disgaea series and not worry much about the strategy part.
12:54 That final between Christo and Overlord Priere reminded me of Goku and Frieza vs Jiren in DragonBall Super. At the final seconds as Goku joined the fight his hair kept going from black to blond repeatedly as he tried to call forth the last vestige of his powers and seeing Priere changed from Overlord to her human form and then back again was pure delight it felt. It felt like a homage
I think Ultimate Bookmark or Hero Style Orders is my favorite. Tho I love Hero team up just due to the fact that I love Mao and Almaz's whole interaction overall.
The last one, with Cristo and Prierre, it's a nice homage when she crosses the white barrier and you see her outfit before she became an Overlord. I hadn't noticed that till now
It really sucks too, Adel is one of my favorite characters and his 3rd special is so badass and they just go and reuse voice clips from cutscenes rather then just reuse his ones from 4 or D2.
Ports of it have underperformed. It has outdated and experimental mechanics. All this said, it's my favorite in the franchise. I still listen to its OST regularly.
Brandon Burrows I mean partly is cause the PSP dlc were broken disgea 2 on PC wasn't even all that bad even the PSP (just that the dlc were broken) the new mechanics still exist and just got revamp in disgea 3 which was the magichange they used 2 as a warm up segment to test new stuff what made it underwhelming also cause of plot that disgea 5 fixed is that rozalin can't access her dark form after the end game even thou that would be a perfect addition to new game plus or give it her after the laharl incident but I guess plot be plot

As mentioned the Seraph titled is never mentioned about anyone else ever having the title and that there is only 1 celestia unlike how there is multiple netherworlds, which self implies that Christo is Lamington. However this also implies that Zeroken started the school in D3.

As lore has it, prinnys in he netherworld are usually poorly treated, abused and underpaid, where as humans who have only committed minor sins get to go to a celestia and do charitable works instead with the angels.
@@VoxelStar Celestial prinnies get it just as bad as Netherworld Prinnies. They make a habit of constantly complaining about how the angels are just as much of slave drivers as the demons.

ZenozaProject I agree the English dialogue used for these skills are just so generic. Weren’t they saying significant stuff when performing these specific skills in Japanese. Not just saying repetitive the relate little to what was going on.
@@lunerblade13 They certainly sound cooler in Japanese lol. Every other Disgaea game has nice English voices, but for D5 it feels like they got the cheapest actors they could find. The voices don't match well at all.
I like how some of them are over the top flashy shonen violence while some others are just "haha yes smol girl eat curry".
