The long telescoping antenna will not work. the transmitter is designed to transmit with a 3 CM antenna and if you put on a longer one it will detune the transmitter and decrease range.
If im not wrong, you should replace antena with antena desinged for the same frequency and better dBi. I did it with my wifi antena at smrc s20w drone and it make it from like 5m range to 100m (with also wifi repeater) range with 5 dBi antena wifi for 2,4ghz.
