An interesting presentation, but I don't think Microsoft TTS really cuts the mustard when it comes to voice quality. The speech comes across as robotic and hence, less commercially viable. On the other hand, Speechelo voices do sound much more authentic. I *almost* signed up for a 3 month trial. According to their money back guarantee, if I don't make money from the investment, I can get a refund within 60 days.
Funny you say that when Microsoft won the Speech Industry award 2021. We've done our reseacrch, much of this is covered in our other video: th-cam.com/video/05DWb5d7psQ/w-d-xo.html Speechelo is nothing more than an online SSML converter with basic tag funtionality. We know, we've seen the original code from the developer. Speechelo is not ranked in the top 10 Text-to-speech products which is outlined by the Gartner surveys. Talkia, Ivona, Natural Reader are ranked far higher than Speechelo. We have also have recorded an average of 200 public complaints per month for Speechelo compared to an average 18 comlpaints for Talkia. TrustPilot has a score of 2.1 out of 5 for Speechelo. Speechelo's recognition is purely on its marketing scheme. It gets others to sell Speechelo for them for a commission on separate web sites, you may be familiar with this already. Speechelo is cheaper becasue its the only way it can compete with its copetitors, not on quality. "if I don't make money from the investment, I can get a refund within 60 days." Well that depends on which web site you go to. Speechelo has many re-sellers, that seem to be used as scapegoats.. All web sites have conflicting facts about the sale, and Speechelo "DENY" any such money-back guarantee and the dispute falls on the web site owner. I have a list of people still witing for their money back months after requesting it. You only have to go to their soical web sites to see those posts. However, the choice is still yours.
The point he is making is you are paying up front for the speechelo product which is based on Google Services. If you go to Google direct it will cost you "nothing" per month for quadruple the amount of characters speechelo offers you with exactly the same voices. Did you see his previous video before this one? th-cam.com/video/05DWb5d7psQ/w-d-xo.html
If you think a multi billion dollar company like Microsoft has more robotic voices than Speechelo, then either your ears need cleaning or you are one of those Speechelo sales pimps. Either way, you are in the minority there,
@@JohnDayQA Don't Speechelo have their own custom engine? Their sales pitch suggested that they did. One of the main reasons they give for upgrading is to get a commercial license for speech generated. If they're not using their own engine, how can they enforce this? I actually pulled out of the 3 month trial at the last minute so I could do some further research.
@@cybersphere I'm afraid their sales pitch says a lot of things. It says the premium has unlimited characters, but we have customers telling us they were cut off after 500,000, and often are unable to send much more beyond the standard 700 per conversion. The commercial license is not owned by Speechelo, it is owned by speech service provideer such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. You are paying extra to cover their costs. Speechelo is a front-end. They are tight-lipped about what speech service they use, but Google is mentioned in their policy statement and people have identified the numerous Google voices in their collection. They do not own their own. Building one AI system required to manage one product is simply not cost effective. They would need to sell a whole range of products. The fact they started with a high price, and dropped it several times tells us they have covered their initial overhead to a third-party service. Talkia openly tells us they use both Google and Amazon. Amazon is reported to have the best voices. Microsoft do not lend themselves out The final decision must lie with the customer. We are here to offer our research. You have nothing to lose signing up to Google, Amazon or Microsoft and trying them out. You can always pay for Speechelo afterwards. It is the most cost effective way to experiment.
Speechelo, Murf, Talkia all use the same voices which destroys the unique quality in your voice overs. Speechelo is by far the worst. Nobody I know here in Japan will touch it because of its false advertising, poor code and basic use of SSML. Many of the AI voices "are not AI."
