Thank you so much for this thorough and simple tutorial. We watched a few other ones before yours and felt like we learned a lot more from your video. Your explanations are simple and in a logical order. Also, showing the components up close like that while you demonstrated was the best part. We could clearly see what you were doing. Can you use the old iq model collar with the iq plus or do you have to buy the new expandable iq plus
is the iq plus smaller han tthe 280c?
Perhaps it has to do with how you are fitting the collar on her neck. check out this link, to another video of mine, where i walk you through how to fit one properly, and i mention how to move fur out of the way for long haired dogs. th-cam.com/video/rfez9hEtHyk/w-d-xo.html
Another thought is, that perhaps the levels you were using were not high enough for her to feel. Placement, "snugness" and levels are the 3 things that i will check to be sure it's working right. also, be sure to double check that your unit is charged and turned on. :)
There are lots of different brand's and models out there, and some models are "low to Med. intensity, whereas other models are Med. to High...Some dog's just are not as sensitive to the pulse as others.
did you test it on you hand at a 20 setting? did it hurt?
Kimberly Harris I have felt the full range of stimulation on my hand (to those who are wondering, yes I have tested it on my neck as well). All levels humane to work with if you have gone through the proper conditioning process and the dog understand what is being asked of it.
Level 20 is very minimal. Level 100 is more intense, however it is not unbearable or painful, simply uncomfortable.

Are there e-collars that are better for German Shepherds than others? The one I have doesn't consistently make contact with her neck even with with the longer prongs because of her long fur. The corrections stopped getting through to the point where I finally just stopped putting it on her.
