    "Russell, i have no idea what's going to transpire tonight" - Russell - "This is the nature of time". Best opening line ever.

    I like that the interviewer basically admitted defeat right from the start and so Russell didn't didn't give him a hard time.

    "No one HAS to, its your right to choose, its a CHOICE"
    Every single word he says is CONSCIOUS deliberate, intentional. Truly amazing. Not only this but it is obvious how unconscious and limited others are when around him. He doesnt judge them or be little them, instead he loves them and raises them up.
    He is a strange and uncommon one but he IS a saint, and angel~*~

    The 1st time I viewed R.B. I was HOOKED! ( VMA AWARD'S) I LUV this gifted young man, & everything he stands for. His honesty is charasmaticalely, dabbed with his wonderfully, unique, sense of HUMOR. I, also LUV the occasional serious expressions on his face. I can listen to R.B. speak as I view him all ay & night. ( if only I had that kind of time in my life). Russell Brand you are definatetly #1 on my list of people FAVORATES!! One day in God's time you will be knighted, SIR Keep the faith!!

    Thanks for stating the obvious. It's always good to come back to the basics. And you caught the point, I was talking about brilliance, rethorical mastery and mindful criticism. Difference times, different cultural paradigmas, different means of communication, different biographies. And still these good ole qualities out of which I get the kick out of and I so loved in Wilde's works and aphorisms, I find again translated and verbalized by Brand. Different, and still similar. Just love it.

    I have seen Russell Brand on several shows on the telly, no matter the quest, or host, R.B. has that kind of effect on people. Very few can stand up, or challange, his sense of humor if you will. R.B. is just that naturally witty & much more. For me, this does not take away in regard's to critisizing, or judging anyone R.B. is encountering with. I am to busy ENJOYING! Russell, however with all due respect, opinions are like arsehole's everyone has one!! R.B. would definately agree. GODSPEED!

    I feel sorry for Russell, always being asked to simplify or "better explain" the most sincere and real of things he says. Just because he doesn't preach or grow grim when he says something serious doesn't mean it isn't real. He simultaneously knows truths and avoids getting attached to them. I love hearing him speak. Not too interested in his stand-up though.

    It's because he's going too fast for everyone around him. Like what would you say back? I would like to say something engaging if I was in that situation but I don't know what I would come up with in half a second

  • @esprit15d
    @esprit15d 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    i'm tired off interviewers (or commenter's here at youtube) kind of shrugging off Russell's remarks after he's done talking, like "oh, you said to many words! the words were too big!" that's disheartening because they are poetry and not just verbal diarheea. they really stand up as real content. that's like saying you don't like a song because it has too many notes or a movie had to many actors. Did the song sound ok? Did the movie tell an interesting story?

  •  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Quite a while since I first seen this clip ( about a year ago more or less ) and now that I've found it again, it not only leaves me astonished as with any Russellian piece of discourse flaring us with its distinctive seal of brilliance and geniality but also the vertiginosity with which he concatenates the fluency of his ideas as if gushing impros. on an instrument. Here his interlocutor reflects and acknowledges his puzzlement before his replica but also his almost inability to be at the same level of interplaying response with which to provide the expected "stimuli" in dialogue. Thus, the evidence of an almost quasi-soliloqy being expostulated for some moments during this "talk" (Brand's always getting, most of his interviewers, stunted by the rapidity and sagacity of his discourse articulation which discloses a wondrous thinking process).
    Well that in terms of the form, now when blessed Russell brings forth his real subject-matter interest to be expressed in this "talk", he touches me very, very deeply upon the gravity of an issue no many celebrities I know of, want to communicate about: the continual diminishing of clean drinking water in our planet.
    We humans tend to forget that since the world is the world the number in the volumes of our planet's water supplies, hasn't varied at all but on the contrary, it has been constantly, mercilessly reduced by human pollution, nefarious process being accelerated since the latest "Industrial Revolution" grave problematic being exacerbated by our exponential "capacity" or I dare say "championship" in our insensible racing production of tons and tons and tons of massive debris, detritus = garbage of all kinds contaminating not only air and soil but the very hydrosphere layers ( from the shallow to the deepest ) from which water supplies are supposed to get stored, filtered and fed back during the water cycle from ice, gas, vapour, rain and liquid. Yet, and if it wasn't enough, another element is looming about, menacing to make of our environment scenario, the bleaker : "fracking" being the newley cherry to this "wedding poisoned cake" being presented to our still benevolent evolutionary platform, our beloved Mother Earth. I thank YOU Russ for your honest committment to diffuse this problematics in your "trews" so many more become aware.
    Thanks so very much also to the uploader ° namaste

    this inerviewer is a dear, and probably a great writer. but he admires russell too much to conduct a proper interview. and maybe this isn't a proper interview; i'm not sure what the occassion is. But it's more like the interviewer is more setting Russel up for jokes then laughing heartily at them than actually interviewing him. I would have preferred him to just introduce Russell and let him rip than have to have to plod along with this mock interview.

    enjoyed the first bit, quite funny, but the latter was rather pompous; especially so, being that the U.S. is sort of like the awkward younger sibling of Britain who got upset after being nudged around by i's elder and then went off on a murderous rampage, committing genocide for the fun of it. & Now that it's not really doing anything, or educating its people, you get ones that run around saying things like, "hey big brother, remember that time I saved you," when they themselves weren't there
