Keep in mind that this video is mostly opinionated. Let me know what your favorite arc in post-timeskip One Piece is, and whether you agree with my takes!
You definitely deserve more subs, this video is one of the best rankings I ever saw, you really explained why are u placing an arc where are you placing it, and explained good and bad points of an arc, my favourite arc is Dressarosa, even as a reader I felt a bit slower pace, I cant imagine how was it for anime watchers, I just love Doffy and the story with toys, its really dark even for one piece, for egg head I dont think I can rank it yet, but its looking like one of the best in one piece, god valley flash back incoming
I think Fishman island is underated. Its exploration of themes is incredible with the Fisher Tiger and Queen Otohime flashback. Yes, the opponents for the Strawhats weren't very challenging, but I think Oda did that on purpose to show how strong the Strawhats have gotten. Hody wasn't a villain that was supposed to be unique and a challenge to Luffy on a combat level. Him being just a imitation of Arlong was kinda the point. So I think Hody does a perfect job at what Oda was trying to do with the arc. His scene of saying that humans have done nothing to him gives me chills. The arc also has great worldbuilding and that scene with Jinbei giving Luffy his blood is just a perfect end to to get the arcs message across. It's far from perfect. I think the animes pacing was a big issue, like for most of the anime from the beginning of the post-timeskip up until Zou/Whole Cake Island. Would raise it up a tier.
@@HeavenlyAniManga I thought Hody was written perfectly as a villain for Fishman Island. I highly disagree with the sentiment that Hody was supposed to be like Arlong, because unlike Arlong, Hody's hatred was unsubstantiated, it's not justified. Arlong actually experienced racism by humans and witness his fellow people get abused by humans, meanwhile Hody experienced none of that, and he's hating because that's how he was brought up. Arlong and Hody represent a different type of villain and serve different purpose. I thought it was a great idea to make Hody rely on enhancement drugs to make him keep up with Luffy and Zoro, further showing that Hody is a hollow villain that relies on outside forces for everything that he's done. He fits perfectly as the villain of the first arc post time skip, weak enough to not take attention away from the growth of the strawhat crew. He's not a complex villain like Doffy, but that's how it's supposed to be. It's cliche, but he's not the real villain of the Fishman Island, but it was the fear and uncertainty that the fishfolks have for humans. Even Jimbei said so himself, that's why they had to set up the whole scene with Shirahoshi asking Luffy for help. Luffy could not just walk up and take on one of their kind, they had to create a scene where Luffy would be beating one of their kind to save one of their kind.
Honestly, I agree with you completely on that. I(‘s never going to compete with the best arcs, but overall it was good at what it was going for. The New Fishman Pirates were intentionally weak. Gave an excellent opportunity to show off the new SH abilities. The main downsides were that the arc was too hyped for the type of arc it was set up to be almost. Also, Sanji’s nosebleed probably is quite possibly the dumbest thing Oda has written.
I still can't decide which arc I like the most from the post time skip. Dressrosa and Wano had great peaks, WCI is overall more consistent, I like Wano's supporting characters the most, but if I had to pick one, I might go with Dressrosa, because of Donquixote Doflamingo, need I say more?
One Pace fixed my enjoyment of basically the entire pre-time skip arcs, and Dressrosa. If you're a wano hater, I recommend watching the series again thru Pace, you'll thank me later.

@@jordan-os5igUp to you. I saw the pain and sadness that Shirahoshi had carried for years... where she preferred not to hate the person who killed her mother and followed her mother's promise not to hate that person. There have even been fatalities on their side. Even in Arabasta there were no fatalities. everyone thought Pell, Koza, and Igaram were dead, but in fact they weren't... they were just hit by a drought for 3 years... even Arlong Park was crueler than what happened in Arabasta
For me, the reverie was a lame arc for one reason: I thought Wano came straight after WCI. I finished the Wano arc like two days ago and it was obviously done when I started watching, in fact, three months after Gear 5 came out in the anime, I had watched so many clips from it and wano as a whole I started One Piece to watch that arc. Throughout the entire anime I remained convinced Wano would end up as my favorite arc (it did), but WCI, especially the beginning, were too long for me and hard to get through. For the reverie arc I binge watch it completely, auto skipping openings, summaries and previews, to get onto Wano as soon as possible. You can't blame me, after 5-6 months I just couldn't wait any longer
Post timeskip had a very weak start with Fishman island followed by Punk Hazard, which are mid at best, at least in my book. Especially since the arcs before that: marineford, impel down and sabaody were some of the most powerful in the entire show. I have been heavily spoiled, but I haven't watched the actual arcs though. And the world of one piece and all the theories and everything are so interesting and I love that and the community a lot, but I kinda don't feel like watching it because I know dressrosa and wano are insanely long and I know a lot of people love those two arcs, but I honestly don't trust those guys very much, because even though I haven't watched it, whenever I look at wano, a lot of it feels like filler I LOOOOOVEED the style of pretimeskip, and the humor back then and the small details and interactions, and I feel like all of that till fishman island and punk hazard have been absolute garbage dogshit and it feels like a parody. 1. Chopper: Chopper feels less serious and he used to be effortlessly cute and innocent but now they try to force that and its just cringe, monster point felt so....heavy and cool but it feels like an unfunny joke now, kung fu point and muscular point are also dogshit compared to the previous points which I thought were really cool 2. Usopp: Usopp's new plant powers make no sense and either just kinda do as much as the plot wants him to or he does nothing, which is a tragedy for someone whose fights always had a lot of thought put into them. I thought he'd be really strong after the 2 years of survival but it feels like he's not changed and he used to fight despite being scared but now he doesn't do much, plus there's no sogeking anymore 3. Franky: Idk if its just me but Franky looks less macho somehow and that's kinda why I loved him earlier and he looks more like a cartoon and the general franky mech looks cringe and feels childish. 4. Nami: Nami's elemental powers make no sense either and they made her head sooo round idk why, I love nami and her backstory is when one piece became one of my top shows 5. Robin: Robin looks like a different person too and I don't dislike it but it throws me off a lot, I love nami and robin, I hope I get used to it soon, I've seen how robin looks like in some future arcs and I like it 6. Sanji: Skywalk is cool, sanji being into ladies so much and flirting wasn't bad in pre-time skip but now its kinda done in a way that feels like a parody and I think the raid suit looks great except his head(hair plus mask) which looks really cringe and childish 7. Zoro: Zoro's alright, I loved his laugh, and I'm pretty sure that never happens again but he's cool 8. Brook: Brook's style and the whole humming swordsman trait in thriller bark was so cool but the reasoning behind the ice shit and distracting people with melody makes me take him less seriously because I know it won't work on anyone who isn't a side character ass goon and even with the devil fruit reasoning, it feels like an asspull 9. Luffy: Power scaling feels off. I loved the random moments when luffy acted serious/mature or like an actual pirate but now he feels more childish, immature, dumber and like a parody of himself. His Head is too round as well and sharp features are gone and his face looks more babyface too. I get the explanation that the attack and stuff not making sense are creativity but it feels like an asspull. Plus Idk if its just me but the humor is a lot worse and interactions are more childish. Please tell me its gonna get better later. I'm watching it from the start again with friends and we reached Loguetown and its been extremely good so far, but we're probably not gonna be watching it together forever and I'm wondering if I should continue even after we stop with the anime, maybe manga. Or maybe I just watch the live action version after these episodes come out(probably in the 2030s), I haven't watched live action but I heard its good so idk TLDR: Feels more childish and fillery, and things I don't like about strawhats, please tell me I'm wrong or that it gets better.
You are dead wrong, if one piece was ONLY the post time skip and pre time skip didn’t exist. It would be considered top 3 darkest animes. But yea I do agree that post time skip had a weak start even tho I do enjoy Fishman island and especially punk hazard but in hindsight and comparison, it’s pretty mid. You should still watch it but if you already know everything that happens in punk hazard or Fishman island then you should just continue on dressrosa If you truly feel you cannot watch those two arcs even tho like I said, is not bad at all imo. Plus this is probably the first time I have heard someone said one piece got more childish post time skip when in reality it’s soooo far off 😂 wano also had some of the best animations of the decade and contains the best flashback about roger and his crew. And it also contains one of the best episodes in anime. Episode 1015 (imo) and it contains the best animated fight since season 2 of demon slayer. Ep 1062. There’s more good than bad in post time skip. Also if you actually watch post time skip, you’d know Luffy has matured ALOTTT more. So whoever or whatever made you believe he got more “childish” is dead wrong. Plus, all the points you said about the characters will be explained besides the Ussop one and ig the franky one? Even tho I don’t understand what you’re getting at. Also, Sanji only used his raid suit like 3 times in the entire post time skip. It’s only used as a plot point to push him and advance his character development which would make sense if you watched it. Also what are you talking about? Luffy’s jawline is square af, where did you get his head being round
@@infamous_richard8732 Thank you so much for reading my long ass comment and taking the time to reply to it. I actually did watch till punk hazard, and I ended it there. But I know a lot of the events till egghead because my "friends" can't shut the fuck up. And I'm honestly really excited to see what happens for myself. I'm glad to hear that it isn't childish and is mature and stuff, and Luffy develops as a character like that. I kinda hesitate to trust u here though, cuz you said post time skip might be the top 3 darkest anime and I really doubt that cuz are u sure you've watched more than 3 anime and they're not all shounen? but then again, the pre time skip was pretty brutal with backstories and stuff too, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. And I'm really glad to hear that the character criticisms will be explained too, idk how considering the nature of what I pointed out, but sure. Usopp will probably get a lot of development when they reach elbaf. Also, I checked, and yeah his jawline isn't really a circle but I swear I had seen some clips and it used to be pointier in the past when he got serious. I love the old animation, and it's like the same reason why I like og DBZ more than Kai animation which looked shinier but the details were better when they were bare bones and stuff, but I remember the number 1015 and a lot of people saying it was good. And yeah man, it probably is more good than bad. Also, tysm for not spoiling anything, even though I know most of what happens, I haven't watched it and idk the answer to a lot of the things I said/asked, so ty, and have a great day/night
@@mrperfectcell1350dude timeskip is much better even though pre ts is very peak like you will not understand until you watch it or recommended read the manga
The problem with wano I feel like is more in the anime... because I caught up with the manga during act 1 and I read it all the way as new chapters came out and I've also seen MANY manga readers say this but wano was so damn good... like people hyped up wano so much because it was so good in the manga but anime watchers seem to not like it that much so idk honestly. (I don't think it's as good as egghead, dressrosa, enies lobby or any top tier arcs but as a manga reader wano was at least top a or lower s tier)
Imo Zou is too low and Dressrosa too high. I’d put both at Very Good. Zou is better than Dressrosa but that’s the nature of short arcs, and although the highs of dressrosa are pretty damn good, there are few parts that I actually like it. I mean, it’s just Sabo’s reaperence, God Usopp and the main fight. The battle royale was mid, the coliseum was actually pretty bad, and there are way too many characters. It still has some of the highest highs in One Piece, and that’s why I’d put it in Very good, but there are way too many lows to be in goated. I’d also pump down Punk Hazzard. It’s really close with Fishman Island, but I actually think FI is better just because of it’s flashbacks.
As far as Wano, I didn't like it. I liked the main beats but it was too long for what story it told. I'm actually glad Yamato didn't join the Straw Hats, I just wasn't into her character and didn't see that she had anything to offer them as a member...plus I like it better that she is staying with Momo and the others.

The only reason why im reading the manga at this point is because of egghead, Oda is cooking on this one.
man... it's been almost a year of egghead (or maybe even more than it), but it's finally ending now
The Fishman Island take is fucking bananas 😂
the one person who disliked is mad bcs its not 4million dollar buget video, i think you did a good job!
nooooooo you forgot to talk about when Luffy obliterated 50,000 members of the fish man crew or something like that
ok yeah that moment was awesome
if yamato doesnt end up joining the straw hats in the final saga im doing something in 67 days and 2 hours
so I will have 24 years when one piece ends...
ACCEPTING
The problem with wano I feel like is more in the anime... because I caught up with the manga during act 1 and I read it all the way as new chapters came out and I've also seen MANY manga readers say this but wano was so damn good... like people hyped up wano so much because it was so good in the manga but anime watchers seem to not like it that much so idk honestly. (I don't think it's as good as egghead, dressrosa, enies lobby or any top tier arcs but as a manga reader wano was at least top a or lower s tier)
I’m so glad Yamato didn’t join, to controversial… not the trans part, it’s the kozuki oden part
dressrosa would take 2 days with no breaks to watch all the way trough
53k views but 1k like and subcriber is just crazy
Ok, so am I the only one who really doesn't like Whole Cake?

Levely is foxy tier. Sure it had some great story but it was so boring and a waste of time to watch. Shit was 90% flashbacks if not more.
Too many spoilers 😢
Then you shouldn't have watched it
