Much as I enjoy the forgotten villains/hero videos, It's always awesome to have a good old-fashioned countdown every once in awhile. My favorite Green Lantern villains are as follows 1. Sinestro 2.Krona 3. Black Hand 4. Evil Star 5. Atrocitus

Good list, but man, I always kind of like the Tattooed Man. He could never be a huge threat, but as a throwaway villain, he is just so fun to see in action. Awesome video!
I feel bad for the earth based villains. Dr Polaris Tattoo Man, Sonar and the others have potential to be more prominent rogues, but thanks to Geoff, GL adventures mostly take place in space and rarely occur on earth. At this point, most of these villains are forgotten rogues. Shame. I wish writers would do more green lantern stories on Earth.
I feel the same way, Dr. Polaris especially since he's my favourite Green Lantern villain, no joke. I just really like him and I wish he was a more prominent enemy of the corps, I think he has enough potential to be on the same level as Atrocitus or Sinestro.
I personally prefer space stories, but I agree that we need to some earth based stories too from time to time. Polaris would be perfect for such occassions, as well as some of the others you mentioned, Tao.
Just give Tattoo man , Polaris and Sonar plus the GL other earth based villains to some underrated hero’s Atom etc since GL is a space cop and should stay in space
I hate it when a writer gives a hero's rogues gallery to another hero. They are GL villains. They just need to be utilised more in stories and not ignored.
The Green Lantern Rogue's Gallery is pretty underrated but I think the most underrated rogue's gallery goes to Wonder Woman. Mostly because of the sheer amount of really underrated villains she has. Angle Man, Dr. Poison, Silver Swan, First Born, Giganta, the list goes on.
Daniel Brandon I don‘t really think that her Rogues Gallery can keep up with Green Lantern. Other great Lanternvillains are Parallax, Krona, Relic, Larfleeze and Nekron
Your top four are the same as mine, BUT I'd switch Atrocitus and Star Sapphire around, with Sapphire at second and Atrocitus as third. As for my fifth place spot, I do like Dr. Polaris, but my choice would probably be Larfleeze, a.k.a. Agent Orange. Why? Well, because a supervillain who in one story goes on a mission to kill Santa Claus is definitely doing something right in my books. XD
Cool, I'll give it a look! I'd love to make one myself, but I would have to read a lot more X-books.. even the ones I have read I've almost forgotten, as it's been so long. I do remember really liking Mystique though.
Sinestro is among my top 10 fav DC rogues. To me he's the most fully fleshed out & realized villain. I like how he's tied to Hal & there's no love triangle involved (like Dr. Doom & Mr Fantastic). Much like Magneto & Xavier they still have respect for one another & will always be "friends" (just with completely different viewpoints & methodologies). I think the closest dynamic Marvel actually has towards Hal & Sinstro are Dr. Strange & Baron Mordo.
Blackton Obvious! I feel like the relationship between Spiderman and Green Goblin is kind of like the one Sinestro and Hal have. Also, I don’t think Green Lantern and Sinestro really consider themselves to be friends anymore since Green Lantern sees Sinestro as a monster and Sinestro sees Hal as a failed pupil

To me it's interesting when Hal asks are they're friends and/or were they ever friends, & Sinestro replies, sadly, they're still friends and/or will always be friends.
I guess in most of the Green Lantern stuff I’ve seen Hal and Sinestro always seem a bit cold to each other and seem to have strictly a professional relationship which is why I compared it to Spiderman and Green Goblin. I guess the Abin Sur relationship makes it more interesting and maybe magneto and professor X would be a better comparison

Yeah I guess Green Lantern and X men villains are pretty similar as like you said they each want to fight what they think is unjust, it’s just that their methods are too extreme. I am pretty sure Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Carnage are the only Spidey villains who are insane though as the others like Sandman and Electro are just normal people or thugs who just happen to have special powers and abilities. They’re not really insane freaks like Batman rogues and always getting sent to Ravencroft like the Bat rogues are always getting sent to Arkham lol

Here’s my list, but it’s a top 10, since I’m also considering Alan Scott’s villains: Honorable mentions: Goldface, Evil Star, Harlequin (Molly Mayne), Thorn, The Gambler 10. The Icicle (Joar Mahkent)-Yeah, I love my ice-themed villains, even though this one isn’t particularly interesting, at least not in the comics (his son is a better character, but I like Joar too). 9. Solomon Grundy-So Grundy here started out as an enemy of Alan Scott, but these days he just sort of floats all over the DC universe and basically has nothing to do with Alan anymore, which is why he doesn’t rank even higher. So Grundy is a very powerful and intimidating character, but at the same time there’s a tragic element to him, the latter of which is what makes him so great. 8. Black Hand-So I like this guy, but not as much as everyone else. The modern version, while I enjoy it from time to time, isn’t quite my cup of tea, and his whole death obsession feels somewhat out of place in the colorful and otherworldly tales of Green Lantern. Still, he brings some nice variety to the GL rogues gallery, although I do think the original version is a more interesting character, but still, I can enjoy both versions. 7. Larfleeze-So this guy’s whole motive is “I want more stuff!” And while his motives are somewhat one-dimensional, his personality is very entertaining. I also like the fact that he’s the only real member of the Orange Lantern Corps, and I think his design is pretty awesome. 6. Hector Hammond-So maybe good old Hector here isn’t the best developed GL rogue, but I still like him. I just really like villains with mental powers, so naturally I like Hector. And the fact that he can’t even move, speak, or stand upright without his chair thing gives him a tragic element. And the fact that he only speaks through telepathy is pretty cool and unique, since a lot of villains with telepathy can usually speak normally. 5. Sportsmaster-Placing Sportsmaster above Solomon Grundy and Black Hand!? Are ya nuts, AF!? Well, I’m not sorry to inform you that Larry Crock is my favorite of the classic Alan Scott villains (although I think he and his wife Tigress would work better as enemies of Wildcat). I’m not sure why, especially since his track record in the comics is pretty mediocre (although he’s pretty good in a lot of adaptations), but I just really like him. I think he has potential to be a great villain, and I like the way he was portrayed in the Stargirl tv series; as a doting father, loving husband, and health nut, who happens to be a brutal supervillain. I hope a similar interpretation makes its way into the comics. 4. Star Sapphire-My reasonings are really similar to yours, so I don’t really have a lot to say here. 3. Hey, can you give a history of the Tattooed Man? I wanted to create a character but I was sad to realise that there was a character whose main feature was tattoos.
The one thing I disagree on (partially at least) is Star Sapphire's 80s/90s version being the best - personally I think that the best version of Star Sapphire would be a blend of 80s/90s Carol & Post-Johns Carol; a badass Earth woman who leads her own Corps & wields a ring possessing within it a Predator that's constantly trying to mess around with her head so that it can exploit her various repressed insecurities in a twisted attempt to "improve" her emotional stability, but when it counts she's able to pull through & fight alongside the Green Lanterns as a friend & equal...most of the time, at least. She's still technically a hero, but she's also a bit of a wild card, & during the few times where she does give in to her insecurities & lets the Predator possess her (metaphorically, not literally; think of it being the Shoulder-Devil that steers her in the wrong direction, she becomes a force that's almost unrivalled in raw power within the Green Lantern Rogues Gallery. This could also lead to her debating whether or not the ring's worth the trouble in the first place, which would inevitably result in her deciding to stick with it for various reasons (she likes the risk, she likes fighting alongside Hal, she feels somewhat inadequate without it, she likes being able to express her long-repressed emotions with the ring; take your pick). I think that's a nice balance - the Jekyll & Hyde element's not completely gone, but has instead been revamped to be less Black & White - the Predator, a manifestation of love, isn't malicious in it's manipulations of Carol; from it's perspective, forcing her to face her insecurities is the only way for her to overcome them & become the openly loving, emotive person she could be, but it's unapologetically blunt & forceful methods only stilt/regress her emotional development. However, being around people like Hal, John, Guy, Kyle, Simon, Jessica, Jade & Alan, among many others, has gradually steered her in the right direction. To sum it up, she's the reverse-Sinestro - a Corps leader with personal ties to Hal Jordan who started off as an arguably villainous figure with evident potential for good, but after spending so much time with the Lanterns & various other heroes (Wonder Woman in particular would be a fantastically positive influence on this version of Carol) she overcomes her demons & becomes a half-reluctant/half-enthusiastic hero/blatant wild card.
My top5 GreenLantern rouge’s are number 5. StarSapphire number 4 the Purple Lantern 3 LareFleezs the orangeLantern number 2 Atrocities number 1 of course Sinistro.
The Guardian’s are the green lanterns most used villain. They always seem to screw the lanterns over. But, they do not belong on this list. Btw I like your list very much. You give a good explanation on why they rank high on your list.
I agree with you on Star Sapphire. She was more compelling as a rogue. The skip it personality makes her fights with Hal more interesting and intense, since Hal has to hold back against her. Also, there are too many Corps. There should just be the green and yellow lanterns. Geoff went too far by adding all the other lanterns (though I do love Larfleeze).
Will you cover the issue of Action Comics you had shown in Top 5 Toyman Stories that features the retcon to the Toyman character(s) where all of them aside from Winslow are robots built by him?
I agree on Star Sapphire. I'm not really a fan of her having a Corps, also i want her to be back as villain because i think it's very interesting and tragic for Hal Jordan to have to fight her. Also... i miss the other Green Lantern's human villain
Killing people for order does make Sinestro a villain to me yes. Specially considering the fact he started a war and would randomly attack Hal even when they worked together

Nah, I wouldnt say Tattooed Man is my least favorite, but compared to these others he is a bit "camp". My favorite Sapphire look would be, ironically, the newer design. As for Sin, I like both the classic blues and blacks, and the modern yellow corps uniform. I do prefer Sin having purple skin over red though, if that means anything. The purple is pretty rare though, but does pop up here and there.
if you ever make another video about another underrated green Lauren rouge in the future you should make one about the shark the most underrated green Lauren villain ever like he is soooo underrated he doesn't even has his own Wikipedia page no joke like he isnt that forgotten because DC still use this charather in comics also the shark appeared in other media he appeared in The All-New Super Friends Hour he had many cameos in Justice League Unlimited and also had cameos in Batman The Brave and the Bold and heck he even received his own action figure its really odd that this guy dose has his own Wikipedia page at all someone better make that really so but anyway i hope you do talk about this villain anytime soon
Sinestro has too consistently sided with bad guys doing objectively bad things to be considered a hero or even an antihero. Kinda like the current Luthor.
Green lantern has to many villains with the same power construct making. Sometimes anyone slightly different is cool. Is major disaster a green lantern villain
My top 5: 5. Parallax: Yeah, no strong feelings, but I still like him. Had to pick a fifth, and I only have a strong top 4. 4. Black Hand: I like the concept of this guy... I like the deign, powers... But, he only got 4th. 3. Sinestro: Had to put this guy on the list, he is a good friend of mine (Scarecrow: www.flickr.com/people/138738496@N02/). I like fear. 2. Atrocitus: LOVE this character, too. Great villain... Almost made the top spot, but. There is one I like more... Who is... 1. Larfleeze: ...Yeah I love this guy. So cool... Theres nothing wrong with making a character with a similar powerset to other characters, it just depends on how you execute it.
I'd have to agree. I've always felt the biggest misstep in the green lantern world was tuning every villain into part of a core.
Yeah. Honestly, the Sinestro corps and the Reds would've been enough for me. I can do without the rest.

The one thing I disagree on (partially at least) is Star Sapphire's 80s/90s version being the best - personally I think that the best version of Star Sapphire would be a blend of 80s/90s Carol & Post-Johns Carol; a badass Earth woman who leads her own Corps & wields a ring possessing within it a Predator that's constantly trying to mess around with her head so that it can exploit her various repressed insecurities in a twisted attempt to "improve" her emotional stability, but when it counts she's able to pull through & fight alongside the Green Lanterns as a friend & equal...most of the time, at least.
She's still technically a hero, but she's also a bit of a wild card, & during the few times where she does give in to her insecurities & lets the Predator possess her (metaphorically, not literally; think of it being the Shoulder-Devil that steers her in the wrong direction, she becomes a force that's almost unrivalled in raw power within the Green Lantern Rogues Gallery. This could also lead to her debating whether or not the ring's worth the trouble in the first place, which would inevitably result in her deciding to stick with it for various reasons (she likes the risk, she likes fighting alongside Hal, she feels somewhat inadequate without it, she likes being able to express her long-repressed emotions with the ring; take your pick).
I think that's a nice balance - the Jekyll & Hyde element's not completely gone, but has instead been revamped to be less Black & White - the Predator, a manifestation of love, isn't malicious in it's manipulations of Carol; from it's perspective, forcing her to face her insecurities is the only way for her to overcome them & become the openly loving, emotive person she could be, but it's unapologetically blunt & forceful methods only stilt/regress her emotional development. However, being around people like Hal, John, Guy, Kyle, Simon, Jessica, Jade & Alan, among many others, has gradually steered her in the right direction.
To sum it up, she's the reverse-Sinestro - a Corps leader with personal ties to Hal Jordan who started off as an arguably villainous figure with evident potential for good, but after spending so much time with the Lanterns & various other heroes (Wonder Woman in particular would be a fantastically positive influence on this version of Carol) she overcomes her demons & becomes a half-reluctant/half-enthusiastic hero/blatant wild card.
A combination of Catwoman and Two-Face.

I agree with you on Star Sapphire. She was more compelling as a rogue. The skip it personality makes her fights with Hal more interesting and intense, since Hal has to hold back against her. Also, there are too many Corps. There should just be the green and yellow lanterns. Geoff went too far by adding all the other lanterns (though I do love Larfleeze).

Nah, I wouldnt say Tattooed Man is my least favorite, but compared to these others he is a bit "camp".
My favorite Sapphire look would be, ironically, the newer design. As for Sin, I like both the classic blues and blacks, and the modern yellow corps uniform. I do prefer Sin having purple skin over red though, if that means anything. The purple is pretty rare though, but does pop up here and there.
