Wouldve been great if sunbreak had added a way to play longsword the way it was prior to it becoming "reactive sleep aid: the weapon" by removing the counters and letting your normal slashes actually do damage like how they added surge slash for gs, but nah they just doubled down on more counter bs.
Longsword hate also comes from people thinking it's OP and braindead to play (i personally don't really think longsword is "braindead" and the only time where longsword could ever be called OP is base Rise pre-nerf)
Charge blade main here... The only hate that I have with the big weapons that have meters like the long sword is that because they are long it's easier across the board for them to charge and land there big attack with monsters that move so much like rajang. It's almost like I have to go through the hastle of laying a trap or waiting for a laser beam to get my hits in to charge, then wait again to land my big attack.
And then when you go to land the SAED, your teammate flinches the monster and you whiff the entire attack 😂😂 That’s why I quit CB because I love co-op.
So short version is you hate when you mess up with LS, and you have bad experiences with LS players ( with very popular weapon) being toxic. It seems like pretty shallow reasons to not like the weapon itself imo, but hey people have their preferences. I guess I just thought it was going to be some big analysts or critique.
I wish Monster Hunter had more normal weapons. I like LS and SnS because they are the most like actual weapons, but I wish there was something closer to how european longswords, bastard swords and Katanas were actually used.
I just wish longsword wasnt so incredibly weeby, along with dual blades becoming attack on titans' cringe copy and bow being so over the top and flashy, they "ruined" 3 weapon types so far... Keep the game grounded... well, apart from insect glaive xD
@@TimHawk. I’m not saying that they’re not flashy in Wilds, and I’m not even saying that I won’t like Wilds. I’m just saying that I like the more fast paced, varied and complex combat system of Sunbreak. Wilds is gonna be another kind of experience, and a good one I’m sure, but for the pure gameplay experience I’m more interested in the portable games.

had a few LS sessions, admit monster rhythm has been tweaked. What i dislike is blatantly slammed 'pancaked' to ground and monster gets a free cart.
In every game whenever there is a katana it is stupid. Itnever has a drawback and it's always eazy mode.
