    Great interview guys. Nico your News is some of the best stuff on youtube, it has always been evident that your not talking yourself seriously with it, its what makes it enjoyable, apart from the actual news facts contained therein.

    Once again, it was a pleasure to have a chat. I'm sure looking forward to the continued connection of the film photography community!

    Really really love this type of format. Because it's a "podcast esque" style, I can just listen to it. I don't feel the need to actually watch the video and feel like i'm missing something. So I can play this video and have other tabs open on my laptop and still go about my business. And THEN tune in and click back over to see your guys' reaction. I hope you guys do more. And Hashem is an awesome guy, glad I was able to link up with him too.

    Great interview! At first I thought it was about "push"-processing, but I'm glad to see it was the second meaning. One great advantage of film is the fact that it doesn't really have the built-in redundancy the way computers and digital cameras have. Hasselblad produces fabulous cameras and always has! But many of us have opted for the old 500 FILM series with their magnificent lenses. Like ALL other digital cameras, the new Hasselblads are updated every couple of years, so you essentially have to invest in another $6,000 to $10,000 every two years! The technology is NEVER completely mature. With the original film cameras, you could just buy a new emulsion, which cost maybe $5 to $8. Even though film is much more expensive in the long-run, the new purchases don't set you back so much every two years.

    Hi Nico, I love where this is going, it’s a very professional approach beautifully blended with fun...
    Great guy to interview by the way, you’re both in the same zone, most interesting!

    It would be awesome if Sarah became the second half of Pushing Film. Female photographers are grossly under represented in the industry, especially in the analog photo world. Great interview!

      Agree! I have been wanting to get more diverse people on TH-cam for that same reason. I teach workshops and its a 75% women attendees but then online I see less than a 5%. Need to help fix that however possible.

    Thanks for bringing the spotlight to Australia!!! Lots of us shoot film and love it. And you found a genuinely great bloke to interview!!!!

      Thanks! I always try and include the rest of the community here, the creators are well disperse around the world, but its very driven towards a few countries. So I want to help pull some weight on that.

    Another excellent show and interview from Nico. Here in the States, B&H in New York and Freestyle in Los Angeles have the largest film selections and all things film-related. As for processing, The ICON in Los Angeles is superb, and they process even the rarest emulsions.

    Really great channel, I think pushing film was recommended by another channel, was it Ted Forbes?

    I checked the Melbourne labs (all of them) and only 4 does 4x5 and one does 5x7 and 8x10 film which is what I'm getting into.

    • @NicosPhotographyShow
      @NicosPhotographyShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, its hard to have a LF setup in this day and age, in Spain its one or two labs at the most doing 8x10. Thats why I do it myself ;)

    • @tplyons5459
      @tplyons5459 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NicosPhotographyShow I decided the same. Bought a JoBo tank system and rollers. I trained on an 8x10 in the Air Force in 1964 and after getting a Pentax 645z and enjoying high quality I got an Intrepid 8x10. One problem is I have no idea how different processing times are between dip and dunk and a rotating drum?
