Because his natural and singing voice is very similar to that of Ryo Saeba; I would say he doesn't change it for City Hunter. His Kenshiro voice clearly isn't very natural and he can't do while singing or even anymore nowadays as it strains his vocal cords and he's already 74 years old.

@@jonathanlenormand8115 He can't do the Kenshiro voice nowadays it seems. It strained his chords at lot. He retired from the role entirely. I tried doing Kenshiro voice and I can tell you it does strain your throat if you do it a lot.

Kamiya Akira sensei was also the original Mouri Kogoro in Detective Conan... He is without a doubt one of the best voice actors in anime! They kinda ruined Detective Conan by changing voice actors 500 episodes into the show..... for me any way! I still don't know why they changed voice actors but it should have been obvious that there was no way to replace Kamiya Akira without hurting the anime as a whole. It may have been one thing if he had only done like the first 5 episodes but after 500+ episodes Kamiya sensei's voice as Mouri Kogoro become something of an icon to the show. I'm still upset with this change all these YEARS later!! If it was about $ they should have paid it because Kamiya sensei's talent is worth his weight in gold and that is proven with just the Detective Conan voice actor swap not counting all the other great anime such as Hokuto No Ken (One of the Greatest anime of all time) and others he was a part of!
