I am just waiting for my new freeze dryer delivery and discovered your channel among others. I have to say that yours is my favourite channel with very useful recipes and info I can put to use right away. I have been bing watching your videos for the past week or two and love the content. As others have said, I think your channel deserves better exposure and I have been giving thumbs up on all the videos I watch to help on that score. Very sorry to hear that you are experiencing some family issues right now and hope that things turn around for you and your family soon. Thank you for all the great tips and tricks, I really appreciate the honest reviews of the recipes and the info on what you might do differently.
Thank you so much. Sadly my brother passed away this weekend. I will be taking a break from posting but please continue to subscribe. I will return and post more at a later date.
@@JohnInBibs I am so terribly sorry for your loss😢 Please take the time you need to heal yourself, we will be here when you are ready. My condolences to you and your family.
What an amazing idea ~ especially before garden season. I could grow a lot more celery. Usually I grow 4 plants and it’s enough for fresh eating all season by trimming down.
Your video has me wondering if you put a good ranch dressing on top of the celery in the concave area before freeze drying would it be any good. Have you tried that yet? Maybe even mix some cheddar shreds into the ranch first. Hmmm I need to buy a freeze dryer so I can experiment.
glad to see a new video. who doesn't love them some celery and pb. I will have to put this on my wish list of stuff to do. thanks for the update on the apples. I was wondering if they got soft as time went on. will differently try it your way. Prayers for you and your family. hope all is well. Take care and God BLess
Hi John, I love your videos and watch every one of them. I have purchased your books. Now, your opinion. How long do you think the celery and peanut butter sticks will last where you didn’t freeze dry the peanut butter flavored rounds? Thank you
I am not sure, I did some apple slices 2 weeks ago (see video) coated in caramel wafers. I have them in a ziplock bag on my counter and as I demonstrated in this video the apples are still crisp. I have 3 more coating videos to post one per week and I will be checking the apples in each video. I think that if the fruit or celery is completely coated with no pin holes the storage time would be more on the wafer side. Note I do not have a O2 or Desiccant in the ziplock bags on my counter.
I have request can you try frezze drying fruit I'm the vaccum chamber and heating bad setup by frezzing the fruit then place in vaccum chamber and turn on heating pads?
Glad to see a new video!! This looks like a fun snack! Are the strings still sharp tasting I wonder? I'm trying to figure out my vac leak.. ugh! But you have me excited to start putting up the Meals! So far I've done lots of fruits n veggies for snacking and lots of baby food n baby snacks for my granddaughter! You inspire me to do More!
Great idea! I wonder how that peanut butter would be coated around some freeze dried marshmallows. Or bananas, or maybe take a marshmallow, put a sliced banana on top then coat both with peanut butter. Hmmm
It's candy so you know it isn't good for you LOL, this link has a picture that you can magnify to get the ingredients www.michaels.com/product/sweet-tooth-fairy-flavored-meltables-12oz-10632875
Great video and a great picture of you! 😊

Best wishes for whatever is ailing the family! I concur that you are a creative individual John!
Dont forget to use coconut oil to thin the chocolate that way the chocolate is thinner and doesnt overwhelm the celery.
You’re so clever to think of these things! Hope everything turns out well in your personal life!!

So creative. I hope that things get better for you. Have a great day!!!
You are so creative John. You have the best ideas!
Thank you very much!
Love the idea. I would sprinkle with just a smidgen of salt. 😊
that sounds good!
Love snacks🌻

You always come up with unique ideas John! Now I’m excited to try these. Any way to get good tasting vitamins into my grans is a plus.

Thanks, I didn't really notice any sharp taste in the celery
I wonder if the celery doesn’t absorb the coating and make it rehydrate?

ohhh, those all sound good!
Hi John! This is awesome ! Can you link the specific melts you use? Thank you!
I don't remember I either got them at hobbylobby.com or micheals.com
So the celery didn’t soften up?
What is the shelf life on this?
This is such a cool idea, but yes I can see how it could be overly sweet.
And what are the ingredients in that PB melts?
It's candy so you know it isn't good for you LOL, this link has a picture that you can magnify to get the ingredients www.michaels.com/product/sweet-tooth-fairy-flavored-meltables-12oz-10632875
How would dipping 1/2 the stick be?
I think that would be nice but you would have to store differently i.e. mylar and O2 perhaps
That would be kind of fun because people could see there was celery in there.
Celery may taste good BUT I hate the strings.
