Isaac Newton seems to have got himself a bit of a... heavy tan when he was sitting under that apple tree? They could have got an actor who looks a bit more like him? Or make him up a bit? But no worries. But the Doctor thinks he's hot? They should have kept him asexual IMO, imagine William Hartnell saying Isaac Newton was hot? Or even like Sylvester McCoy? Something about it doesn't quite sit right.
Yeah I think the doctor is still asexual because being ace is “little to no sexual attraction”. I think it was a way to just confirm that the doctor is attracted to everyone not just women. I hope he is still ace and Russel doesn’t make him Bi to be lgbt because ace is lgbt and I don’t want ace identities to be erased.
What about 11 with River? Or twelve for that matter? I wouldn't call that asexual, would you? Or Ten with Rose? Madame Depomadour (butchered that spelling)? This isn't a recent thing.
@@torchwoodboy5564 I’m asexual and asexual people can still experience sexual attraction. Matt smith and David Tennant confirmed that the doctor is asexual. @@torchwoodboy5564 You could go as far back as 8 when McGanns Doctor kissed Grace but he did it in an alien not quite understanding that doing that was a big deal for humans kind of a way. When he came back in 2005 and started crushing on Rose he kind of lost his otherworldliness a bit IMO. You could say it makes him more relatable but traditionally it was his companions you relate to. The Doctor was more a mysterious god like character like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, he's was on a slightly plane of things.
This felt like an average episode from series 1-4. It was fun and better than anything from Chibnall but I can't help but feel somewhat underwhelmed. I've seen reactions from people comparing this to episodes like midnight, heaven sent , silence in the library 2 parter. I'm sorry but to me this episode was nowhere near that level.
I agree with you there! Quite a few moments I liked but overall I also feel a bit deflated after watching. Also I have to admit, the cgi pulled me out of the episode quite a bit as well. Not so much the creatures, but the long corridor. I’d just rather they shot the whole thing practically instead of trying to create something mind blowing that ends up looking a bit cheap
If this had been the first episode it might have brought more fans in instead of driving some away. As a result, I'm sad that many might not have stayed to watch this lovely bit of scary fun. And to see the last of Wilf, of course.
Is it just me that thought the episode was shocking. The CGI, The plot, everything was awful. Only good things was the ending with wilf and the next time trailer
I felt that the CGI was so big, and clearly had more money thrown at it. But there was something about it that I can’t put my finger on that made me think “this is really obvious CGI”. In the past I could overlook it (and actually the CGI had been pretty good in the past, given the limited budget and technological resources available at the time) but here I found it harder to overlook because of the increased amount of investment the show is now getting. I found this episode quite boring to watch, if I’m going to be honest. And the chemistry between the Doctor and Donna doesn’t seem to sparkle like it used to. I think the show has fallen into the same trap we all do from time to time - We try to recapture something great we had in the past but it rarely works out the same. Lightening never strikes the same place twice, and all that. I also think that the bigger sets and bigger special effects are just there for their own sake. They’re just doing it because they can. I very much include the new TARDIS interior in that. It looks great, but the sheer size actually serves no purpose whatsoever other than it shows off how much money the show has got to spend now.
Everyone seems to be loving this, I'm happy people are happy watching the show. But as a 60th anniversary I'm so disappointed, I just have no interest in Tennant and Tate running around. I'm just waiting for him to regenerate and move on from this shite now🤦♂️
the whole point of the 60th is having these two back, plus we already had "power of the doctor" which was nothing but fan service and multi doctor stuff.
That episode was... Spectacularly... underwhelming. Seriously, you have all that budget, all that time and a cast that is just that good and RTD gave us that? I can only hope The Giggle is better, because that was just dull.
@nathaann8790 wind that back a minute. Small scale with big scale visuals. This is a special, one of three to feature Fourteen and Donna. And we’re given a small scale bottle episode with a flashy budget. There is something wrong there
@nathaann8790I see where you’re coming from and I could agree… if this was executed well. There is a difference between feeling like a bottle episode and being a bottle episode. If this was supposed to be a haunted ship with evil doubles that’s great, but there was too much contrived about it. The solution too easy, the threat was undone by itself. Looking deeper there’s nothing of substance here. I do want more and with a set up like this we should get more

When he came back in 2005 and started crushing on Rose he kind of lost his otherworldliness a bit IMO. You could say it makes him more relatable but traditionally it was his companions you relate to. The Doctor was more a mysterious god like character like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, he's was on a slightly plane of things.
what did i just watch, that episode was strange. Hows this a part of the 60th annivesary lol
The Xmas special onwards I think will be the jumping on point for new fans
Imagine if Midnight had been this OTT?
Which is how this idea and concept got ruined in my view.
Yay I'm first!
Is it just me that thought the episode was shocking. The CGI, The plot, everything was awful. Only good things was the ending with wilf and the next time trailer
I thought it was brilliant tbh
It was the it was the best doctor who episode I’ve seen in a while
I thought it was great. I don't get distracted and think about the CGI. I have a decent imagination.
Why you watching then?..
@@pvksl because I've watched for 35 years, you don't have to enjoy everything. I'm excited about Ncuti but not this 🤷♂️
I believe most of us prefer Tennant and Tate to nothing for another two years....
Yawn!
That episode was...
Spectacularly... underwhelming. Seriously, you have all that budget, all that time and a cast that is just that good and RTD gave us that?
I can only hope The Giggle is better, because that was just dull.
Bruh
