Renovation: OLD GREEK HOUSE!

  • The plumbers have arrived! Unfortunately, they also left with some work remaining to be done so I'm back to nagging them. It is a shame that I got to this stage of the renovation during the busy months of springtime when EVERYONE is making repairs on their summer homes. I've had a hard time catching the electricians' attention as well. But no worries, if I am anything it is that I am determined! Markos begins plastering inside and the walls are looking beautiful. The house is already so much lighter with a few walls complete. In this one I also drag an antique restoration project out into the open and create an AMAZING workshop sink.
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe - I'm in the mood to see some rapid growth on this channel. It's time!
    Best wishes,
    MM

I am happy you are also showing how direct and tactile a lot of Greece still is.
You go to the market and farmers are selling their own veggies. You go to buy marble and there's just insanely big pieces of marble sitting there. You ask around a bit and find the local beekeeper who will sell you fresh, unboiled honey.
This is a big reason why I love Greece so much.

Yes, you are right. I love Greece so much, it is a very special place and it is not all about tourism!

The Greek way of plastering first and drilling for the pipes after still confuses me 😂 In an old house I get the point, but they do the same in new buildings. Me, Swedish living in Crete, plan first, drill for pipes and electrics second and plaster after. My Greek hubby doesn't get the point 😂

Everything is splendid dear Marcie❣ Will you use special adhesive to stick the sink to the marble slab?
