Knowing I can now make my own is wonderful both because it costs a fraction of the price and because I know exactly what's in the final produce. +Missrobiii A jam typically has more sugar plus pectin of some sort added to get it to gel . This doesnt have one though . A fruit butter is basically a reduced fruit puree .

I make something similar to this for a pumpkin spice syrup that I use for home made pumpkin spice lattes. It's not really a syrup, but more of a "butter" that dissolves into a hot drink. I'll have to try adding apple into mine!

You can make donuts with these. Fry the bread and then stuff them with this as a "cream filling" for the fried donuts or baked donuts.
