- Here we have another Ford O.H.C '' Pinto '' engine for a rebuild and I decided to mount the GoPro to my head and take you through the build. Here we strip down the donor engine, a low compression 205 blocked 1989 example from a Sierra P100 pick up.
UPDATE .. 02/06/2020 Due to the owner having a change in circumstances the build was cancelled.
I'm sure another Pinto build will come along..... I have other engines too including a Rover 3500 V8.... Stay tuned!
Thanks for the vid. I have to rebuild the 2.1 in my Westfield Super 7, and this was a great place to start. Cheers from the Right Coast of Canada!
really useful video, did you ever do the follow up? cant seem to find it in your videos..
Sadly not.... Due to the customer having some personal problems he sold his Ford Escort and the build was cancelled.
Super!👍
Это однодифузорный карбюратор?
У меня стоит Pierburg 2E3
It was a single choke Weber , the engine from a Ford P100 pick up.... Sadly the owner had a change of plan and this build didn't procced. My carb of choice is the Weber DGV 32/36 twin choke

WEBER 👍, на нем sierra едет хорошо!
😂😂performance and pinto. Two words I never would expect to hear together.
How about 260 hp and 211 ft lbs from 2.3 liter? 🙂

What can you tell me about a eng code 70hm6015aa 1.6, The valve cover looks just like a pinto 2.0 valve cover set up??
That is the block casting number for the early short stroke 1600 .. The later Emax 1600 used the 2 litre crank and a smaller bore. The old 1600 can be made to perform quite well, the 2 litre camshaft can be used for extra performance. The 1600 GT used the 2 litre camshaft, a slightly bigger exhaust valve and the 33/36 DGAV Weber carb that made 96 bhp, the 2 litre at that time made 98
@@BLOWN8CYLINDERThanks for the comment, Do you know what kind of car it was used in? Is it made up the same as a 2.0 Pinto eng, shape and all? Would in go right into a pinto and hook up to trans etc for use in a pinto?. I can pick get this motor that was rebuilt many yrs ago and just set in a shop for $150.00. it also has a intake with no carb on it, That is held on with just 2 nuts only like a little single barrel type.
Wollering around on a garage floor and tools kept in a cardboard box....A real pro
True story..... the motor was dropped off at a mates workshop, for the build I needed the bare block and head so I pulled it apart there, so yeah, took what I needed in a box......
HOW MUCH TO FRESHEN UP MY TRANSIT ENGINE THANKS
Depends what it needs and what you want from it .... email me direct at stock_tm@hotmail.com
Nice 👍 what's the plans for it?
It's going to a 93mm bore, will be fitting a steel crank and rods, forged pistons, bigger valves, better camshaft and some port work... Will be using Weber 45 DCOE's .

Subbed 👍
thats going to be one awsome engine
That's the plan
Great work, looking forward to see part 2
Will be coming soon, just waiting on the parts arriving ....
@@BLOWN8CYLINDER I'm planning a similar project, this is a prefect how-to!
@@NicovanZijl I am awaiting parts but once they arrive I will be making another video which will show what parts are going into the build, some are rather expensive! I will continue making videos of the progress right through to starting it up.
