Beautiful Catalina, we went there with my friends right when they opened up after pandemic. We booked before pandemic but they closed and when they opened up we were called right away. We really enjoyed our 2 days stayed there - easy to get around we just walked from our airbnb to the town. We will definitely revisit. Thanks for sharing this tips! Liked and subscribed 😊
Hi John! Ooh, I didn't know that Mr. Wrigley from the Chicago Cubs used to own Catalina Island! Our husbands are both big Cubs fans. Such a beautiful island. I loved the Art Deco murals - so cool. The ice cream looked delicious. Thank you for showing us around - It looks like a lovely place to visit ❤
Thank you, yes, Catalina Island is a fun place to visit. Unfortunately being an island near California it can get expensive, but as you can see in the video there are some cheaper options for fun on the island.
Looks like Catalina is more developed then when I was there 30 years or so ago. Looks like someone needs some work on their short game. The Casino there was not for gambling but a meeting place. Were those murals or mosaics on the "Casino"? I can't remember. -Marc
Ok, so I'm trying to understand how big/small and truly walkable Avalon is. Question for you.. have you ever been to Solvang in CA? is this comparable to that small town where you can pretty much walk the entire city? or?? Trying to decide on renting a golf cart next month when we sail Carnival and stop there. Thanks!
Thank you for visiting. Yes, I have been to Solvang. Avalon is for the most part a compact town. I have never felt the need to get a golf cart. From the sandtrip to the dock is less than a mile and most people never go that far. The farthest from the dock you can go is the Wrigley Monument and that is 2 miles. If you are just doing a day trip on carnival and can walk reasonably well I would skip the golf cart.
Really?! I know you have done a few cruises on the west coast. I would have thought you would have been there already. It is a common stop for Carnival in the Pacific.
On the island there are lots of things to do. Avalon can be a bit pricey,so this video was focussing on the cheaper things, but depending on your budget there are a lot of things to do. Parasailing and submarine voyages are the most popular .there is also a new off road tour that goes out to see the buffalo 🦬
@@noName-ns4xw it is free , they come every 15 minutes. The first two are reserved for pre booked tours but after that it is just first come first serve. Just show them your sign and sail card at the dock
Love the mini golf, what a fun time to spend the time. We love just walking around, shopping and eating Ice Cream. Have a great day
The ice cream on Catalina Island is good

I doubt many people in Europe have heard of Catalina Island. It is kind of a hidden gem of California. Hope you get to visit one day.

Lol, that assumes I have a game to begin with. Yes, the mosaics are on the outside walls of the "Casino". Thank you for visiting.
