Love it Joe ... WMPTE Wolvo - Dudley Bus route was the 558 via Sedgley in your era mate.... and the Firkins is ace can almost still taste the bright yellow iced cream pineapple tart !
Those pineapple tarts were incredible! Now that's a good shout with the 558, I might have to get some transfers on the go for some of my buses! I do have another 74, a 276 and 120 due to turn up imminently from Rapido
Yes Joe, the 558 bus route is a good choice, past Sedgley blind centre, the good old days of working in King Street in Dudley in the 90s and Merry Hill Centre. I am also following you on Instagram, i remember meeting you in JULY 2019 at the Warley MRC TH-cam meet-up, it was great day out and to meet you Joe, take care, Jamie
Hello Joe! Great to see you updating (and never apologize for not updating)! The new stock looks very cool, but the layout is really taking shape and I love the new line arrangement and the new buildings. That asphalt is a great find. Thanks for the update!
Cracking update Joe. I love the weathering on the platform edging, looks very realistic. Your right about keeping it simple on the other side, and the idea of a scenic flow of track is just nice, and the raised section could be a very impressive area, wait and see. Alex
Hi Joe 👍 really enjoyed that update mate the area around the station is coming along really nice. Had some cracking cakes from Firkins in the past👍 Keep safe and well Andy
Firkins.. now your talking...👍 150th anniversary in 2020 . but no longer shops in the high street unfortunately. I remember the long queues outside the returns shop on friar park.. cream horn for me.... 😂
Hi Joe layout is coming on nicely, you have quite a collection of buses and cars there ! As for the brewery ad on the bridge you're spoilt for choice, M&B, Ansells ,Banks's etc , but Hansons has a great connection with Dudley. If you go on google maps there's a nice example heading from what was burnt tree island going towards wolverhampton . ( it's still there even though the brewery isn't). All the best , Dennis.
Good update mate, nice video showing the work you've done & the ideas you have going forward...love the street scene saw many pics on your Instagram 👍🏻
Some great ideas coming up Joe. Progress is always good to see and can't wait to see that incline in action, good idea.. just remember to keep it as shallow as possible as they're a nightmare to work if to steep. Super stuff.
Great update, I’ve finally found time to watch some YT. I remember Firkins! I think you’ve got the feel of the layout BOB ON! Along with the Buses👍 I’m looking forward to seeing the layout evolve even more. Cheers John b
Great update, looking forward to seeing the layout running, the street scene and shops look great, i really like the look of that tarmac paint i wish i new about it when i done mine, keep up the good work. Tom
@@DudleyCentral no Problem:) I just discovered you and instantly subbed:) It would mean very much to me if you could tell me your opinion about the nostalgic stuff i make.:) Anyways looking forward to your next Video:)
Fantastic lay out I must thank you for giving me the idea of my name on TH-cam to Birmingham central I do not produce any videos whatsoever on my buses so I'm looking to take some ideas from your layout BUSES GARAGE
Brilliant update Joe. The town really looks the part now! that AK asphalt paint really does look like good stuff. When I redo my platforms I will use that for the top surface because that is good stuff. The platforms are coming together nicely now and using real world images is a great idea. What do you think you will use for the top surface of the platform? Nice new additions too.- Nicholas.
Thanks Nicholas, I think I'm also going to use the AK terrain stuff for the platforms too, but try and change the colour slightly so that it differs from the parralel road below. I'm thinking of putting a proper video together for the ashpalt as it really is a great product to use. Joe
Hi Joe. Great work and attention to era detail. it does firmly set it in a specific time and place. Q, what are you going to use to fill in and make your platform surface?
Thanks mate! I've got some spare 9mm ply lying round which I'm going to double up as the infill for the platforms. I'm then going to put a layer of 1mm card to bridge the gap and then cover it in asphalt. Joe
Great videos chap, given me inspiration to do a shelf dcc layout. What points do you use? I'm not bothered about having point motors but want to keep the wiring simple as possible.
Hi Joe great update mate enjoyed watching and listening to your plans. A shuttle video would be of interest to me as I'm thinking of adding one. Oh and what make and where did you purchase it please cheers Andy
Nice update. Just a thought regarding your incline. I found my class 411 emu was far to light to go up and incline as the multiple units have not much weight over the drive wheels.. might be worth trying out the dcc concepts powerbase I did a couple of videos on it. Certainly does help and simple to install before laying track .
Thanks for the heads up on that! I'll definitely check that out. I'm probably going to spend the next month playing around with it and seeing what works. In reality, the only things going up it will be either a Dapol 121 or a Hornby 153. The 153 is the one that worries me the most with it being lighter and only one bogie driving the unit. I'll take a look at the powerbase, what does it do?
@@DudleyCentral its just metal plates u lay under track then add magnet to underside of driving bogie ares this pulls the train onto the track creating more traction I tested with the flying scotsman it certainly made a difference

Hi Graham, yep 250ml. I believe you can dilute that further if desired, but not tried it. Joe
