    Great work Joe. Branch line is very typical of what you might get in the West Midlands. Some great running shots even before the scenery is done ! Excellent work. Cheers Euan

    Nice update. Love the canal theme . How about a flight of locks along there?. Also the living museum theme is a great idea.
    And for your shuttle, terminate in another station. Think I read another modeller suggest Stowerbridge.

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      A flight of locks could be quite a fun challenge actually and definitely make the layout a little unique.
      Yep Stourbridge Town is definitely on my radar. I may do a mock up and see how it sits!

    The track immediately west of Warrington Central looks like the brick arches at your station if that helps.
    Looking forward to seeing how the layout progresses in the future.

    Extension of your branch to a larger storage area, could possibly have the odd engineers train or use as an off scene industrial branch too. You could also extend the area your depot covers then too.

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's a good shout actually and definitely future proofs the layout for more trains!

    • @andrewshaw4052

      @@DudleyCentral its how I'm using my exit down to the small fiddle yard. Branch down too a large off scene marshaling yard and dock branch gives a little more operational interest for you

    Really enjoyed this layout! some great looking models on show! I think you should keep the TMD area as it is, otherwise getting access to your DMU's might prove a little tricky!

    Another great layout update. For your arch station entrance, if I have understood your question, why not model it on the Snow Hill low level entry?

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I've heavily based on Snow Hill, and I've tried to mimic the entrance to it. I was looking for suggestions with overhead lines mounted on to these arches near a station.
      Who knows Snow Hill may eventually get them anyway going by the latest plans I've seen!

      @@DudleyCentral probably why it sprang so easily to mind, good work. My layout is based on Birmingham Snow Hill if as rumoured it had been rebuilt rather than demolished in the 1970s. I shall watch you video again to see if I have any ideas now I’m not stupidly looking at the wrong thing! 😂

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timobluetreemodels352 I often wonder how it would have turned out had they not closed the Snow Hill to Wolverhampton line. I guess they couldn't see point in the competing WCML at the time, but probably would have been useful in the long run

  • @going2thedogs
    @going2thedogs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great update. I think I would extend the depot to provide more of a scenic area for an additional siding or 2. Underneath this you could have the storage area for some DMU. The choice as they say, is all yours!

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that will be the way I go as the scale distance between the two stations would be small and the depot will be fun to build. Glad you liked my update! Joe

    The layout is looking great.
    I’m particularly liking the platforms, some of the Peco kits are great & can be made to look really authentic with a bit of grime.
    The canal should be a great addition to the scene, it’d be nice to see a lock in there too, I’m in the process of adding a canal to my layout.
    What method of water are you thinking of?
    The woodland Scenics realistic water is a good option as I’ve used it before, only it’s quite expensive…I’ve been looking at the old fashioned method using coats of varnish & even PVA can give good results???
    Really looking forward to seeing things develop 👀👍
    Thanks for the update.
    Take care
    John b😎

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers John, glad you liked it. I'm in the same boat as you (no pun intended 😅) with what to use. I've used the woodland scenics stuff before, it does look very good, but as you say it's very pricey. I may try building some test pieces with PVA and varnish and see how they come out. I think Luke Towan has some good videos, so I might rake a look at those.
      Cheers, Joe

    2:29 could have been a run around loop for loco hauled trains that was no longer needed due to the introduction of the sprinter DMUs

      probably a bit niche but i think one day someone probably will make a rtr 323. nice job with all the different levels of scenery you have added btw. tim

    • @DudleyCentral
      @DudleyCentral  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timstrainvideos142 cheers Tim. Who knows regarding DMUs and EMUs? Hornby have opted for the Greater Anglia Class 755s. And I believe 175s and 180s are being done by Revolution Trains.
      The 323s have at least gotten around most of the West Midlands and North West, so i think there's a good case for them.

    Hi Joe. I've been looking forward to an update, I enjoy watching your channel. Well... you have been bust, and what an enjoyable update. It's always good to see an update when a lot of work has been done and this one has given me a few ideas, so nice one for that. Excellent work. Just a quick question, although you have plentiful turnouts, how many actual lines are you running? Best regards, Lee

    • @DudleyCentral
