Anyway, thanks so much Rainn for the searching, openness, and acceptance of being both Dwight and a spiritual creature walking with the rest of us. I am so happy to be walking little spiritual steps with all of you here. Wish you all a day better than the last :)

Sometimes, scientific ideas and spiritual beliefs might not agree, but they can also work well together. Science and spirituality can come together when studying things like our thoughts, what is real, and how everything is connected.

What a great talk. I am so glad I follow this channel. I’d advise anyone who’d like to heard more check out the Pete Holmes’ You Made It Weird podcast. I believe he’s been on twice and each time it’s so insightful.

I would say Steven universe could be like a “kung fu” or “Star Trek” of today. Even the continuation of Star Wars or dune or lord of the rings as it continues. The midnight gospel by Duncan trussell is another example.

it sounds like he just wants to pick and choose different ideas from different religions, which is kinda strange. by picking and choosing youre kind of validating and invalidating all religions. its a little cowardly, rainn is interested in forming his own idea of a God. Its a bit silly because if a God exists then whatever rain wants to define him as is irrelevant. finding the true God is all that matters

It seems like you may be misinterpreting his approach. It's basically syncretism, which actually isn't so strange, nor is it cowardly. In many ways it can be quite wise, actually. SEEK Self Evident Experiential Knowledge. I know that you haven't even tried in earnest, only tried in hubris.
"Ramakrishna after adhering to various religious practices from the Hindu traditions of Vaishnavism, Tantric Shaktism, and Advaita Vedanta, as well as from Islam and Christianity, proclaimed that various world religions are "so many paths to reach one and the same goal", thus validating the essential unity of religions. His parable-based teachings espoused the ultimate unity of diverse religions as being means to enable the realization of the same God"
"I have practised all religions - Hinduism, Islam, Christianity - and I have also followed the paths of the different Hindu sects. I have found that it is the same God toward whom all are directing their steps, though along different paths. You must try all beliefs and traverse all the different ways once. Wherever I look, I see men quarrelling in the name of religion - Hindus, Mohammedans, Brahmos, Vaishnavas, and the rest. But they never reflect that He who is called Krishna is also called Siva, and bears the name of the Primal Energy, Jesus, and Allah as well - the same Rama with a thousand names. A lake has several Ghats. At one, the Hindus take water in pitchers and call it ' Jal ' ; at another the Mussalmans take water in leather bags and call it ' pani '. At a third the Christians call it ' water '. Can we imagine that it is not ' Jal ' , but only ' pani ' or ' water '? How ridiculous! The substance is One under different names, and everyone is seeking the same substance; only climate, temperament, and name create differences. Let each man follow his own path. If he sincerely and ardently wishes to know God, peace be unto him! He will surely realize Him."
      - Ramakrishna

Pick and choose a-la-carte spirituality is completely meaningless. Especially when you draw from so many conflicting and contradictory religious doctrines. This is vapid and a waste of time.
