This was a roller coaster. For a moment I was happy that the billionaire experienced human connection, which I hated myself for, and then it turned out to be a simulation, and now I’m just confused.

The story telling in this video was legitimately great. I laughed, I had an emotional reaction to what has become a trite retort to being rich, and then a completely unexpected twist. You guys rock, keep it up.
The genuine connection thing is actually pretty accurate. Rich people or people at the heads of companies give up so much of themselves and their time to end up where they are. They’re hyper driven and rarely have time for friends and family beyond a cursory level. You don’t end up in charge of a lot of assets without a ton of single minded dedication.
Also, even the ones who didn't have stunted empathy to begin with (remember, sociopaths are massively over-represented among CEOs) end up unable to form genuine human connections.
Plenty of studies show that being put in a position of power/authority over people, even just for the purposes of an experiment, will reduce your ability to empathize with them. Now imagine what being a billionaire CEO does to your brain. It must be like the social equivalent of severe dementia.

I think people have a right to give their children the fruits of their labor, and at the end of the day, children of wealthy men don’t usually know how to handle money. If your trying to say that generational wealth keeps money out of the market, not really. Like I said, two generations and all that money is meaningless on where you end up then.
@@christianboi7690 How does the inherited wealth become irrelevant if more wealth is always being accumulated into smaller amounts of hands and further inherited? The ownership class gets more wealthy, while inequity skyrockets. They also don't spend like normal people do., they hoard it out of the system because they can afford to.
I think money should be made form doing labor, not by owning things. If people want to pass on the wealth made from their labor, that's fine. But someone making vast amounts of money off of a whole bunch of other peoples labor is not fine.
Owner of companies don't make money by their labor, if they did labor in the past, they've already been paid for it. Owners get paid for owning the thing, which I find immoral. Their workers do all the labor. Yet, this person who is not doing the labor their workers are doing, is getting the vast amount of profit made by those workers. It's a grift.
