Judith Durham may have passed away a few days ago but she'll live on in our memories forever, I'm glad that the Victorian government is giving her a state funeral,a sad time for Australia with another great Australian singer passing, Olivia Newton -John today, ☹️
Love her version of Elton John's Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters !! All I can is WOW! Judith Durham, best female vocalist of all time, as far as I'm concerned. Been a fan of the Seekers since 1965. Tim in Texas
I was in Texas in 1965 and I seldom heard the Seekers own the radio. I guess that if she has stuck with them for a few more years they would have hit it bigger in the States.
Her rousing voice doesn't click with this particular song. This song needs a softer and more soulful delivery.Judith's voice is amazing of course but this song is ill fitting.
Couldn't disagree more. I'm a huge Elton fan and not much of a Judith Durham fan, but I think her voice really suits this song. Sure - it's very different to Elton's version, which I love, but I really liked this. The recorded Judith Durham version is probably a little better actually. And I think this is better than her version of Skyline Pigeon, which i thought didn't really click, as you would say.
Judith Durham has one of BEST voices ever ! Australia's first and best singer EVER .Judith with THE Seekers WERE FANTASTIC!!!

yeah - and now Margaret Urlich as well - three amazing singers that hit amazing heights down under.
AMAZING, FANTASTIC SINGER and PERSON !!!!!!
Judith was way more than just "a Pop Star". She was the brightest star in the sky.

I'll never forget Judith , she was such a sweet person ! Her voice was incredible too !
Love that Aussie accent when she's speaking ...
After hearing this I can only imagine the wondrous things she could have done with ''Levon''.... my favourite Elton John tune.
Her voice really suits this song.
Awesome post, awesome song, awesome DL. Thanks
the best of our time george..
We all know Karen Carpenter 's version of the song Solitar. I wander what Judith could do with Solitar. It would probably be as good.
Much better
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.john 3:16
Compare her stage presence with what it was like in, say 1970.

@@Fuzcapp To each his own. I am a fan of both Elton and Judith. I think this version is very inconsistent.
Well Elton liked it
