2008 Chevy Malibu Lock/Unlock Fix

- On this vehicle the Lock/Unlock buttons were not operational. I was able to verify through my scan tool(via bcm communication) that power was getting to the lock actuators and that it was just the button themselves that were not working. Side note i was also able to fix key fob and through some research saw that cleaning the contact points plus the button themselves with some isopropyl alcohol and a q tip is the way to go.
Show us how you removed the door components to access the door locks.

Good to know it is likely repairable, to bad your video doesn't show HOW TO DIY". You should consider a video coach, for lighting tips and how to point camera. 😀 it's all good, mechanic aren't supposed to you tube actors. 👍🤣🤣 I

yes i did this half assed i plan on purchasing a camera dedicated to doing this with proper lighting and also going to video edit and take this on more serious.

How was u able to get that switch out? I can't find any vids that actually show them taking out the switch button itself
How do you program the key fob? I got the door lock buttons to work again thanks to your video but am having a lot of trouble programming and getting my key fob to work. :(
Turn the key on and off 5 times then hold the lock and unlock button on the new key fob

So you had to take the whole door off? Cause I’m having the same problem I can’t lock doors, and key doesn’t work. So if I lock the door imma have to call locks smith
I have a 2011 that the locks are locking/unlocking by themselves and will do at random times. Replaced fuses. Thinking the bcm might be going bad.. ever dealt with that?

would have to pull wiring diagram then trace wires sounds like it may be the bcm. just gotta isolate one problem at a time.

Does that switch come out the top of the tray, or does it come out the bottom of the tray
I have already the button off but u don't show how you take the up part to see the blue rubber, from where I can take off that piece ?

Hi bro, i have a question, i buy the control for the locks, and only one in the passenger seat locks down, the other 3 just stay in their position, what can it be??? I have a Malibu 08.
there is a possibility that the door lock actuators are not functioning. with a volt meter you gotta check if you are getting power to the rest of the doors.
My rear passenger drivers side doesn't work. Can only one lock be affected?
sounds like it may be the door lock actuator if only one door is affected. just have to make sure power is going to the actuator if there isnt then there is a break in the wire sending power to it usually most commnly found on the grommet protecting the cables when yo open and close the door.
All u had to do was take the door lock fuse out if ur locks are going crazy
