I asked my mom if she still remembers me listening to Nightwish when Tarja was still in the band. She said "yes I remember, they have a new singer, right? That tall lady?" And after she saw my confused face (I was surprised, not gonna lie) she said "I know about her longer than you do, I'm cooler than you." My 63 years old mom, ladies and gentleman. I was the one who got my two sons to listen to them. I just turned 50! The love of music is ageless. There is a guy who comes to watch my husband's band play who is in his late 80's. He's in a wheelchair but dances all over the place with women in their 20's.( In the chair,) It is a beautiful thing,!

Ayreon is a "collaboration project", meaning that Arjen (the creator) uses guest vocalists from all over the place :) Some of that music is just insanely good. Floor's sister is one of 3 "regular" backing singers.

Its a song in several segments (typical Ayreon structure), with multiple vocalists. Floor and Irene comes in at 1:55, and then the entire ensemble (all guest vocalists, musicians, etc) filters onto the scene at 3:15. If you pay attention, you'll even see Marco Hietala (in a kilt), he was also a guest vocalist :D

How Nightwish chills after finishing a world tour. Tuomas & Troy: put out album with Tuomas's wife. Marco: put out solo album and do a solo tour of Finland. Floor: Put out album with Northward, go on solo tour of the Netherlands, go on Beste Zangers / blow up the internet. Kai: Other than some drum cam stuff not really sure. Emppu: "I'll be at the bar, come get me when your ready to go back on the road / to the studio"

I saw them on the US leg of this tour last year! This song was a highlight of the evening...Hell, who am I kidding, EVERY song was a highlight of the evening! But hearing this song, which they did much earlier on with Tarja, with a newer more bombastic arrangement, gave me major chills. PLEASE check out Gethsemene from their recent Bloodstock performance, unless they release a video of that song from this show!

This song is nearly 20 years old, from their 2nd album 'Oceanborn' and one of Nightwish's most ICONIC tunes in their entire catalog. Floor does a simply FANTASTIC job with this material, as always, but honestly, this one fits Tarja's vocal style much better overall.,,,imho. Yeah, she really does have a whole fully realized Xena Warrior Princess vibe going on....kinda appropriate if you ask me......
This song was not originally for Floor it was made to utilize Tarja's vocal talents in the earlier days of the band and the part Marco sings was sung originally by a guy named Tapio Wilska and it's off the nightwish album oceanborn

The Wintersun drummer is a friend of Jukka's, who has had to step back from the band because of chronic insomnia. Only a fellow drummer would be so quick to notice. Reminds me when the Dixie Chicks were playing "Not Ready to Make Nice" on the Emmy's and everybody was like hey, that's Chad Smith.

Also, as someone else mentioned, The Day That the World Breaks Down by Ayreon is amazing. Arjen Lucassen is the mastermind behind that project, which has a story spanning across all of their albums; the roles are all played by very prominent Prog Metal singers. He's featured both Floor and her sister Irene in a few albums.
This was recorded in 2018. one year younger. Did you notice how Kai was kicking ass on those drums. Sounded like a machine gun on mega full-auto! Wow! Floor looked to beautiful. What an outfit. I think she would kick Wonder Woman's ass! She had a baby only 18 months before show. Get well soon!

This was last year bro. 2018. The song is from long long ago. Early Tarja era. Back when they didn't even have Marko yet. Personally, I like the Floor + Marko version much better, but that's not a slight on Tarja, so much as I just didn't care for the dude that sang. A lot of people loved him. He was a growler and he growled the lyrics of this song. You might like it. Check it out sometime.🤘👍
