Glad to finally see power supplies that allow adjusting volts/amps *with individual knobs,* instead of via buttons & menus.
The button ones seem kinda slow & unintuitive to use. Gimme a bag full of knobs any day.

Without OVP I would have to use another device in tandem(inline) with this to ensure safe operation. I have their USB meter which offers all protections including 32v OVP it has the same splash screen during initialization so it is indeed the same brand. 👍

After a few days use (thanks for the heads-up) my fan stopped and there came a familiar electronic smell from within the unit, a small PCB trace on the left hand side directly under the input connector and routing to the On/Off button had vapourised. replacing with a fine wire, restored operation.

Another great entertaining video Julian. That was a bit mean with the pointless set displays - thing is you were soooo excited at the beginning. Now I just ordered one for £5.99 including 20% VAT, and to save using multi-multimeters that display is cute and useful. Is it just that you are so many years ahead and your letter box should deliver a portal to another universe? £5.99 gets me a single pot from RS now with their min charge. Parts list for this item would be the real cost, a lot more than a fancy take-away coffee.

I've tried charging my DELL E4310 using my buck-boost which is kind similar to this.
It would power my laptop but it wouldn't charge it. I paid £30 on Amazon for an actual in car laptop charger that takes 12v in from the cigarette lighter socket, that does charge my laptop so, it's kind hit n miss with a buck-boost, depends on if your laptop actually has "1wire communication"

Nice little device, maybe a bit overengeered for the power applicable. 60W is really nothing useful, should be at least 300W or more i'd say. But is nice for low demanding devices, lots of features for the price. You should also calculate the effeciency. Unfortunatle Buck-Boost converters are known to be much less efficient than pure buck- or boost-converters. On the other hand they are more convenient...

I’ve commented my thoughts on the subjects of the switch on spike and the spikes on the waveform when in current limit mode, one set of comments over on Overclockers channel and another set of comments over on Roberts channel...
On heatsinks, I not sure that either version that is being sold has anything that I would describe as a heatsink despite what the listing photos show. Has anyone bought the non-fan version? Did it include a heatsink?
Also note that the fan (on the version with the fan) appears to run constantly (even when the output is off). It is powered from the 78M05 voltage regulator. The fan uses about 140 to 150mA, so if the input voltage is much above 10V, the 78M05 voltage regulator will get warm / hot.
