    The martial art Gabriel was referring to is called Sanda/SanShou or wushu ,I think it would work very well with Karate Combat rule set as it has alot of throws , would love to see a reaction video on Sanda especially with the throws

    • @user-qv4fp9vm8u
      @user-qv4fp9vm8u ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sanda is really cool but idk if you can really use it to its fullest without elbows

      @@user-qv4fp9vm8u yup,but with takedowns they dont really use elbows a lot even though the style teaches them

    You are such an inspiration Gabriel.
    Especially your technicality and foremost, your humbleness. That is why I keep going back to your channel.
    I hope to see more of your sparring videos. Think I've only seen one - which I've downloaded and rewatched to be able to slow it down to see exactly what your doing so successfully.
    Thank you for this treat today! 🍬

    The local champ being favoured is a big trope, of course, but at least it looks like in this fight the referee was pretty fair.

    That body work between around 30-40 seconds from the end of the 1st round was so clean and really hurt him. You can see his poker face crack just for a split second and when he throws a counter kick you can tell that it effected him from the way he threw it.

    Interesting fight and I like how you always keep things honest and admit it’s not as good as you expected. I guess the tactic to change fighting style had some level of success for the Chinese fighter but you still overcame and came out victorious, and with some nice counters too.

    It's such a shame that strategies after clinchings are mostly faded in kickboxing. It should exist just in my opinion though. Nevertheless the restriction, your match is always exhiliarating and makes my day.

    Gabriel my man! Do you feel stronger/faster younger or later or when did you feel that your strength/speed plateau? Perhaps speed/power keeps increasing but recovery is slower. I'm 34 now and recovery seems trash but could be the caffeine not promoting the best sleep even though I cut my intake 12 hours before sleep. I do use a supplement that has magnesium in it for sleep if I really need it. Relatable question to the age disparity i think.

    hey champ, boxing matches are 12 rounds and kickboxing just 3. if you need tou have a great cardio to keep the pace in kickboxing it means that in boxing you need to have a much better cardio right?

    • @ilja7708
      @ilja7708 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      depends, cause normally in boxing the pace is much slower than in kickboxing plus kicking takes more cardio than punching

    • @GabrielVargaOfficial
      @GabrielVargaOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Keep in mind kickboxing is often more tiring as the pace is faster and using your legs is more exhausting.
      But you do need better long cardio for boxing. That's why it's important to run 10km if you have a world title boxing fight.
      Not so important in kickboxing. Sprints are better.

    • @vishnu2407
      @vishnu2407 ปีที่แล้ว

      As someone who's trained boxing alone as well, yes, you do need superb cardio for boxing, but kicking exhausts you insanely fast. Not only that, you have to be prepared for way harder shots because let's be honest, kicks hit harder than punches.
      Then again, i will say this. Sport -specific cardio is very real. If an mma fighter or kickboxer fights a 12 round boxing match, they will tire out way quicker than someone who has been training for boxing alone. same goes for a boxer going into kickboxing. I feel like mma fighters would fare better in kickboxing though, but i wouldn't know enough about that lol

    Hello, I have a question you don‘t have to answer: Getting promotions like this, did you (or your team) always try to contact them first and ask if they wanted you to fight? Or do you get their attention by just fighting and winning many Championships? 😊
    Ps: Your video about managing the nervousness before the fight helped me to cope with it and get a win at Lumpinee Stadium in Bkk last month!!

    • @batgwill
      @batgwill ปีที่แล้ว

      (im presuming with this answer that you arent already cutting water, and are just dieting) the first few pounds of water usually come off much more easily, ask your local wrestling coach how to cut 1.5 kilos and you will probably make it without too much trouble. I’ve cut small amounts of weight like that for jiujitsu tournaments, It was not hard and the effects were minimal
