- I've been Christmas shopping - as you'll see my poor family are mostly getting things I like, viz: books, vintage wares, teeny treasures, useful for farming kit and wine. Join me as I visit local towns Wincanton, Bruton, Castle Cary, Sherborne, Yeovil and the village of Wanstrow for inspiration and treasure hunting in the indie shops that abound in this ancient small market towns.

Loved peeking into Somerset shops thanks so much for taking us along. I enjoy searching antique emporium shops for treasures. I make my gift tags from previous year’s Christmas cards or I paint mini watercolour snow scenes,baubles,trees etc. Ribbon is so much more versatile than sellotape and better for the planet. Hope your family don’t watch this video an spoil the surprise 🤫

Beautiful tour of shoppes. You have such great taste. I love your purchases for gifts. The alligator leather cuff links are so attractive. Your son will absolutely love them. Your stepdaughter’s gift of the lovely ceramic 2 piece container is so precious. Already it appears as an antique keepsake. Lastly, the whiskey glasses are stunning. They are packaged so generously and the glass itself creates such a special moment to enjoy a drink.

I enjoyed your tour of your local towns. I love the quaintness of all the shops, and all the treasures to be found making shopping more enjoyable than going to the shopping mall like here in the States. I hope you do more video tours. I have never been to England but hope to visit there someday.

We reuse old quilting fabric for our presents. We came up with the story for the littles that we leave out the fabric and one of the elves comes before Christmas to get it because Santa knows we like to reuse things. The kiddos know now, but it seemed a good story! And, I learned the actual meaning of the word snicket! Thanks.

I’m wondering whether a profit might be made by doing a basket making course at your new studio and you could provide the willow if you have any over next year from making all those wreaths. Lots of basket makers near you. What lovely ideas - I have used brown wrapping paper for years too, but the ribbon tying without cutting is a great tip. Love the thistle whisky glasses and so would my husband. Happy Christmas Georgie.

What beautiful towns and gorgeous shops. Treasure them and use them - exclusively if possible, and keep those online giants at bay! So many towns are soulless shadows of their former selves now - such a shame.

Hi Georgie what a great idea to wrap Christmas presents in brown paper, no tape and ribbon. I love it. What size of brown paper do you recommend me to buy? I see lots of diffrent sizes.
