I never have cried so much with the bigest smile on my face!! Makes every hair on my body stand up at times. No drug in this world can give you emotion and joy like the love of music can.. not even close . At the end its like... what the fuck did I just listen to holy shit!!! haha What talent
They kinda just flick the top off of the place and fly away with it. Love it, finely a band that plays live for the audience and not just for a buck. Restores hope for the future of music.
Impressive talent. I showed some of his video's to my brother who runs a local classic country radio station and his reaction was "dam, he's ate up with it Son!" LOL. He was just as impressed as I was.
and iv seen the singer of a grindcore band swallow his whole mic and doing gutural death metal growls to 200bpm blastbeats while standing on a barrel wich was leaking redioactive smoke
I didn't know I was missing this until i heard it!! I have GOT to see this live..can't wait for this pandemic to be over I'm flying to whatever show he does next
I’m 40 and would like to think I along with many others, and thankfully younger gens when exposed, are keeping Bluegrass alive with guys like Billy and others. Bluegrass almost died for a few decades in my opinion and I’m glad it’s back and both preserved-performed in its pure root form by purist artists and then transcendental guys like Billy that adapts it to stay relevant to the masses. We all love the original, but it’s damn cool to see it evolving also!
There are studio performances. And, there are live performances. Everybody gets their optimum performances down in the studios(or ,at least, pretty close). There ain't many that can do these live events the way Billy gets its done. As Bryan Mabe says, "The man is INCREDIBLE". I've seen him live 3 or 4 times myself. He "Brings It" every time! Sorry, I missed this event. It's about a 30 minute drive from my place. Catch ya next time. :)
if we're being honest I feel like his live performances come out meaningfully /better/ than the studio-processed versions. I *really* love the "live in a real studio" one (echo sessions 28?)...
First off, AMAZING performance. Billy Strings never dissapoints. He went places with this song he's never gone before. Second, Billy Failing starts to look like Cousin It from Adams Family around the 15:06 mark
Holy Shit these guys are good! They should bring this piece of American Music to the world with a tour thru everywhere else that ain't the USA ! Bring this music to the WORLD!
MAN ! WOW EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO YOU BILLY IM JUST DRAWN TO LEARN MORE , IM 51 AND SELF TOURGHT ON DRUMS/KEYBOARD/HARMONICA/ALL STRINGS GUITAR/BANJO/MANDOLIN/UKULULE AND VOCALS IVE PLAYED ON AND OFF FOR BOT 4YRS BUT ONLY GOT SERIOUS IN THE LAST YEAR AND FROM WATCHING YOUR OBVIOUS GIFT FROM ABOVE WITH AMAISING RANGE AND MUST BE ONE OF THE WORLDS BEST GUITARIST . THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTAVATION . IF IDE STARTED PLAYING WHEN I WAS 4 INSTEAD OF 40 . GOOD LUCK WITH THESE UNCERTEN TIMES STAY HEALTHY , IM NOW READY FOR GIGS JUST NO WHERE TO PLAY UNTIL WE START TO RENBUILD , IM FROM THE BIG AUSSIE LAND . CHEERS BILLY
I couldn't believe how in the beginning of the video they were just sitting there and it took awhile for them to get interested. I thought they rocked right out of the gate.

I've been a lifelong metal head, been to plenty or hardcore shows and I've seen my share of crazy shit on stage but that move is by far the most badass thing I've seen a front man do. What a legend.
Between Billy Strings, and Bob Caplan, I've discovered studio versions of music are nowhere near as good as live performances if the band is actually any good tbh
@Mike Bastiat obviously there's an audience for it and he's gonna go on doing his thing regardless of how we feel about it. Lol. Like all the weird shit Bella Fleck did. But where do you go when you're that fucking good. Picasso couldn't sit around painting fruit and portraits either.
The banjo picker was completely out of time and just playing , out of sync , ruined the tune , I turned it off , ugg really couldn't handle the out of time music
Man, i have listened to this for 4 nights in a row.
I never have cried so much with the bigest smile on my face!! Makes every hair on my body stand up at times. No drug in this world can give you emotion and joy like the love of music can.. not even close . At the end its like... what the fuck did I just listen to holy shit!!! haha What talent

Billy is introducing Blue Grass to a whole new generation.

Want more of this in 2020.
He's gonna be in Detroit in December, there are still tickets available, I'd love to go.
Wish you guys would come up to Montana.
I'm exhausted. Hard to believe that Strings, Failings and Matulich can maintain that energy. Good thing they're young.
I will never wear my belt the same. Thanks Billy!

Cant you see he sold his sole to the Devil to play like that ,look at the fear in there eyes, scared to death at his arrogance.
Have to say the more jammy trippy bits do nothing for me. No doubt he’s, they’re all great but driving an acoustic through a stomp box, meh.
