Forza Horizon 5 - Best Fanatec CSL DD (w/ Boost Kit) Settings

- Well, after some time with the Logitech G920, I was itching for more. I've had the Fanatec CSL DD on order since November, and it finally arrived the day after Christmas!
I've been getting used to it, adjusting settings for the past week or so and here's what I found most comfortable in Forza Horizon 5. Quick, Easy and simple setup to get you on the road quick and ripping around!
First part is adjusting the settings in Fanatec Control Panel and then going over the in-game settings in the game menu.

I changed my settings a bit from yours but i must say out of all the other settings videos and forum post, no one mentioned lowering the steering axis deadzone outside setting. I noticed the improvement immediately. thanks

Can I use the Fanatec GT DD Pro base WITHOUT A XBOX RIM on forza horizon 5 PC?
I’ll lost likely use the podium hub(ps ready) for my real life car wheel
I don't have all the wheel related options in the "advanced Control" panel, even the csl dd is fully recognized by the game.
You are using the buttons on the wheel to go to the menu correct? If you use a controller, it will pull up only the controller settings, even if a wheel/pedals is connected also.

I see you set steering axis deadzone to 70, isn't it just better to limit the wheel rotation a bit more instead of getting to 70% steering and it suddenly goes to 100% (or does it stay at 70? then there is even less reason to adjust this and not just limit the wheel rotation. I've set mine to 360, set steering linearity to about 10-25
Yes you could, I've tried both setups and found this one to be most comfortable for my driving. I had set the steering angle to 360 w/ no deadzone and it wasn't as smooth for me, so I left it at 540 and the 70% deadzone.
It could be different for your driving style/feel, give it a shot!
Hello there! i have a small question if u please to answer! I also have csl dd base and, i don't now why, no matter what steering angle i set in fanatec control panel, in game, the wheels of the car reach maximum angle when i'm aproximately at 1/3 of the angle that i set in fanatec control panel. Have you faced problem? (for example, when i set 900 degrees in fan cp, in game, the wheels of the car reach maximum anngle at about 180 degrees...)
Do you mean when you're in the cockpit mode and the steering wheel for your player is only going 180 degrees? Or the car isn't actually turning fully for you?
The game is not designed to replicate that since it was mainly designed to be played with a controller
Have you figured this out yet? Having the same problem on FH5, and it literally makes the game unplayable on the steering wheel.
@@Lejalapeno907 i think i had steering sensitivity at wrong value. needs to be 0.5. U can check more in detail by looking at steering angle in telemetry (press T)
i dont even have the boost kit and this shit feels like im driving a semi without power steering? am i tripping or is that how people actually like their settings
You could try lowering the NDP (Natural Damper) and it should give the wheel a "lighter" feeling making it a bit easier to steer. I actually use a bit more damper personally, but found these setting to be a nice middle ground that gave a good amount of feel/feedback but wasn't so loose the wheel was free floating. You can try adjusting the NDP in the Fanatec Console or maybe try adjusting the "minimum Force Feedback" / "Wheel Damper" setting in game to .8 for a bit lighter feeling.
What I wanna know is how the game is not crashing for you... Which drivers are you using? How are you even using PC mode....lol
I play on an Xbox Series X, so I'm only in PC mode when adjusting the settings and connecting to the computer for updates. My Fanatec drivers are the most recent available within the "Fanatec Control Panel". Once I have it plugged into my Xbox it's on the Xbox "Green" mode.
Start the game up as administrator. worked for me on my PC..... and yes use Comp mode on the Base
@@stealthninegaming9223 say what? You can adjust the wheelbase setting for Xbox games in PC mode? How do you do that exactly? Do you keep the wheel plugged in to xbox and enter PC mode for adjustment on your wheel LED
@@R83TV I've tried this and it doesn't work for me. it's annoying. crashes every time. going to try and downgrade to old drivers. Hopefully that works
@@abuelb When you're adjusting the setting for the wheelbase, it's plugged into your PC.
Adjust your settings in Fanatec Control Panel > Save > Close Control Panel > Turn off Wheelbase > Unplug USB from PC and into Xbox.
The settings you set will be saved so any adjustments will work when it's used on your Xbox.

Don't know if you still have this problem but try switching to yellow light compatibility mode and then go into fh5 settings and set custom wheel and pedal binds
switching to the yellow setting did the trick. Much appreciated!

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, I took fade's advice and switched the mode from red to yellow. In the menu for FH5 it immediately went from unbound to recognized
Why PC mode (red) can not be used in my FH5? CSW 2.5 (yellow) is the only one I can use
He has it in red only for the tuning part. he changes it to xbox mode when he actually plays forza on his xbox.. he is not a pc gamer :/
Do these settings work in xbox mode?
