Rickey was born Christmas of 1958. He was a gift to not only his family, but the baseball world. He was an absolute one of a kind player. There will never be another player like Rickey Henderson.
Hell…even if Chas regains his 2021-2022 form I’d be a huge boost, let alone his 2023. I still expect Melton to reach the team and keep Dubon at utility where he belongs, and he’ll probably play RF.
If we can get 25 hr and 75 rbi from Chaz 15 hr 60 rbi from meyers 10 hr 55 rbi from dubon We could be alright and those are all realistic for each player I can see all 3 doing 2 plus WAR and they’re all above average OF defensively
I like Jeremy Pena in the 2 hole. His best hitting season was in his rookie year batting between Altuve and Alvarez. Plus he will see more fastballs and less of the sliders which is his weakness
Walker is the best 1B in mlb for the last 3 years. This is a big addition. I think we'll see more HR and RBI with Walker and Paredes than we saw with Tucker and Bregman. Walker's defense will help Altuve a lot.
Chas Home Run power depends on his batting stance. The low Altuve swing Crouching batting stance develops his power swing. This upright batting stance looking at the catcher, this 2023 season. Chas go back to your low batting stance.

how about a centerfielder who has an arm and ops value
Chas McCormick and Jake Myers have in the past been gamers. Maybe one or both McCormick and Myers could be the clutch players, put the ball in play players, the make the big play players.
The Astros swept the Yankees in NY last season. I think we have a much better team right now. We have a much healthier team going into spring. Leon looked really immature last season. He's fast and has big power. He has two HR over 490 feet. Maybe he'll turn it around in spring.

i am tired of having no centerfielder....if ops is important the jake is not cutting it....he and chas have weak arms and everyone knows it....get a centerfielder
Brett why did u keep interrupting Eric’s thoughts, it was cringe 😬. This is not meant to be disrespectful I really enjoy hearing your takes but it was really hard to listen to the episode, Eric’s face of frustration was noticeable.
Melton and Leon are not viable options. Melton can't even hold down a spot in AAA. What to do with Singleton ? DFA is the correct answer. McCormick was messed up by Dusty the Clown Baker, and if you let him play consistently in one spot I think he can get back to his best. If Astros really want to win this coming season, go and spend the $20-$22M that Teoscar Hernandez is looking for.. You then have a dangerous lineup - with the obvious exception of Meyers and Pena. We can't afford his contract but I would swap Pena for Correa in a heartbeat.
Teoscar will cost the Astros 2 picks. It isn't about the money. Our farm system is depleted. We already gave up 2 picks for Walker, we aren't giving up 2 more

Pedro Leon needs to play centerfield for the Astros give him a chance And he will produce more than Chas and Myers.
I'd still like to see what Leon can do
If Ricky had the bigger bases and pitch clock it would have been crazy.
Make a split picture of Chas 2022, 2023 different batting stance. Huge difference. His leg injury made him not go lower in his batting stance.
If chaz can regain 2023 form , meyers can breakout and if Dubon can give us 150 plus hits I don’t think the outfield is completely horrible

Lots of ifs in there. lol We really do need to get one more OF though.
Idk about y’all but I really like this lineup

@thered Ya and I become a Astronaut.
We need Ben Gamel back please 🙏

Profar just makes so much sense at this point… but I’m confused cause spotrac is saying we are just under the threshold by less than a mil?

Lineup looks like
1. Altuve
2. Paredes
3. Yordan
4. Walker
5. Yainer
6. Pena
7. McCormick
8. Meyers
9. Dubon, Leon, Whitcomb, Dezenzo.
That is a pretty stacked lineup.
You forgot Santander when he gets signed.
They won't sign him and give up another 2 picks. Santander isn't happening
Bring back Jason Hayward for one year for cheap.
I like him too!
Agreed
He doesn't have much bat either
@Texan Neither does chas or jake they seem like filler players just their because they need 9 people on the field.
Chas McCormick and Jake Myers have in the past been gamers. Maybe one or both McCormick and Myers could be the clutch players, put the ball in play players, the make the big play players.
Find way to bring Luis Robert jr and or Santander
Let me know what you think guys I know I am right on this one.
😂Jake Meyer gold glove winner?
@@alfredochoa6253 he was a finalist….so not sure why it’s funny?
@LockedOnAstros Well, because when you favor certain players, you tend to make stuff up.
@@alfredochoa6253 if I said he won the gold glove then I misspoke! Not sure what you’re getting at
@@LockedOnAstros Soto was a finalist so there's that. Gold Glove has little credibility.
Gold Glove is all about defense. Meyers has been in the top 3 CF for a few years.
ricky henderson was a rare talent....he could go deep with power as well as steal bases
Brett you interrupt Eric WAY TOO MUCH DUDE!! lol

I think they’re still signing Bregman
No.
No thank you. Whoever signs him to a long contract is going to regret it.
well you are wrong
IF they signed him where would he play? Where would Paredes play? Bregman might be able to play LF.
@ bregman was naturally a SS, but third is my guess. Parades SS. Jeremy Peña of or bench idc.
Every podcast yall say McCormick hit 22 homers in 2022. It was in 2023
trade pressly for prospects and then get an OF
Weak outfield and shaky bullpen has to be addressed like they said in podcast.
goldie was a great hitter in his prime.....if the yankees could get one decent year out of goldie they will be happy

Does Singleton have any trade value? Anybody still looking for a 1st baseman? Agree about Loperfido. Maybe get Kemp back? Lots of ex-Astros out there.

should have signed max kepler ,we need left hand hitters. the outfield is terrible . yankees are better than astros
