You are such a cute fella. I saw your head pop up and I thought what a handsome bloke! I'm glad mine is happening gradually, too, although I am an old dude;) I was using Romaine religiously for a few years but now I'm just letting it happen. I like how my hair line has changed. When I approached 50, I thought I want to be a little old man shuffling around like my granddad. My granddad was slick as a cue ball. I used to comb his bald head when I was a kid lol. My dad's hair was thinning in his 40s so I'm in line with some of the men in my family. I'm cool with that. I never thought once about quitting T. I'm here for all of the "male experience". Always so great to see you, Allen. Thanks for the video!

Eight and a half years?! Holy moly! I've been watching at least that long. Time really flies. I started E? 11 years ago. I wish it worked as well going the other way as it does for you FTM.
Glad to hear from you again. You've come a looonnng way, hair loss and all. It's all part of the experience, love it or hate it.
Have a great weekend❤️ (month, year until you post again).

I love how your dad looks. I can see a resemblance. I think about Woody Harrelson when I need a little comfort;) I still have a quite a bit but it inches back every day.

Losing my hair is definitely the thing I'm afraid of with T, but you're right. I don't even notice other men's thinning hair in every day life, and many men look good bald. That helps out some of my own thoughts into perspective. Also, glad you're back! I've gotten through most of the older videos and was hoping you'd continue haha

The trade off is a gorgeous square jawline with a manly receding hairline

I like your realness here. The way you turned off your computer sound and the pace you were talking at. You’re really cool, I’ve been tuned in for years. I remember when you were teaching. I was born in San Francisco and I live in the same state. You look wonderful regardless of the balding.

I'm glad you shared some of the ways that you've found to cope. Thanks for sharing the early images of your dad. All I can suggest is to immerse yourself in your work and leisure activities to distract yourself from how others might be perceiving your appearance.

You could always shave it all, I think it would look good on you.
Hairloss meds seem something to definitely be careful with its interaction with T, and talk with your endocrinologist about.
You could always try a toupee, or just rock this look your father gave you. :D

Could always get into head-wear - find cool styles. I know this may not be the same as coming to terms with or embracing receding/balding, but it could bring about a new interest!

8 years for me and we have the same balding going on...I feel as you do that I've had time to somewhat adjust as it has been thinning since year 5...I can so relate. Good to see you making videos again

Thank you for this video. I am right in the middle of dealing with this. Trying to decide to take the “plunge” and just cut it all off. Such a huge struggle.

A man's head is actually growing throughout adulthood with the pinching of the hair follicle as what causes it to fall out.

I appreciate you making a video about this. I just started T last month, and this is a fear of mine I know I may end up having to face.
Also, thank you for posting these videos over the years. They have been very helpful for me in my process of thinking about my own gender. You're the most thoughtful/introspective guy I've watched so far.

I started T around the same time as you.. in the first couple years i noticed shedding but i was like whatever. It wasn't until just before the lockdown that my barber pointed out my thinning scalp and receding hairline. I had a curly mullet at the time and considered a skullet until my partner vetoed me 😂
Minoxidil did not work at all for me for some reason so i gave up after 2 years.
I'm shaved to a 0 now and i find that there are advantages. I live in a country where being LGBTQ is illegal and it isn't safe for trans folks. Being bald, no one can question my manliness in public 😂. Even the cops address me as brother even after seeing ny gender marker on my ID and they're the ones who usually give me shit.
My toddler niece, who i love more than anything in the world, likes to rub my scratchy head when she goes to sleep or when she's upset and im conforting her. It calms her. So if anything, its for my lil buddy.
That said i sometimes kinda miss my mullet and rattail.
And you are a really handsome guy. You know how some men are just more handsome bald? Thats you.
