Really helpful. Having performed this procedure for a customer who spilled coffee over the upper right corner, power button and right speaker. No noticeable damage on either side of the logic board, although the independent Apple Tech may have cleaned up prior to me opening it up. Even so, not obvious staining. Shows a consistent 20v from the PSU. DFU opens in AC2 on a 2020 MBA with Sonoma and the Mac? shows up under Locations for a revice/restore. The Power button is operational to teh extent that DFU sees a MAC? (with a question mark). Tried various combos of Tilt sensor, Touch ID sensor either connected or not. DFU just hangs on Step 4 in both Revive and Restore and eventually spits out Error 4042 every time. Difficult to get a clear and concise explanation of Error 4042 online. I suspect it's T2 related. Anyway, good job your end.

I don't know if I ever asked you this, but is LapFix an official Apple Repair Shop? Great find on that little bit of corrosion like duh!!
