    Doesn’t this defeat the object of putting better air filters on though?? 😂

    Great video! I subscribed... What size air pods did you get? I have a bike like yours I've already put after market pipes and took the baffles out. Now I'm wanting to re- jet the carbs and put air pods like yours... Thanks!

    Hi, I use the same filter but I change the main jet and it works great. I don’t cover the new filter like yours, but is a good idea !

    What is that ticking? Needing some valve clearance adjustments? mine doenst sound like that! But how are the pod filters? i got the advice to never change the airbox to a pod on my vx800 (same engine), because of the CV carburetors

    Do you know where the oem flash relay is on this bike and what it looks like. Internet says left side cover 7pin. Internet also says right side 2pin flasher.
    I suspect someone had removed the oem flasher before I bought it. So it's nightmare getting my signals working again. They work just won't flash.

    Hi I need some help I have the same bike. It back fires when I let off the throttle going to do tune up take Factory plugs out and put new ones in. Do you think that will help. also my battery is not keeping a charge read some things online saying that it could be the regulator do you think you can help me out with my questions

    • @mrblue289
      @mrblue289 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The backfire on deceleration could be caused by the PAIR valve. In terms of your battery not holding charge, it's probably the stator and/rectifier. I'd try bypassing the MMM first though.

    I have the same bike but I will turn over but wont bust off and when it does on rare occasion it will shut itself off. I bypassed the mmm box that helped some but has backfired when trying to start, I have a new fuel pump coming. If that's not it I'm thinking the carbs, it gets good fire but acts like it doesnt get enough gas. Any help would be greatly appreciated

      these bikes in particular are very complicated with two different carbs ( front is a down draft rear is a side draft. )the linkages are very precise so if you messed with those , take it to a real bike shop where it can be set by vacuum guages. mine has deleted pair valve and custom jets but still factory air boxes. it is f'n fast. has cobra exhaust. not my favorite but for the price they work . the backfire at startup says you carbs are out of sync. vacuum guages are the best way to correct. good bike .very under rated. i put a belt drive on mine too. made it from other models parts. has a s-40 suzuki rear and front pulley .modified rear to fit my hub . front fit like it was made for it. belt came from v belt supply. incase anyone wants to know ..... 2002 mm long belt 14 mm pitch 40 mm wide. i did much math to figure out that belt length. got it right the first time. im a welder by trade so i was able to do two mods on frame and swing arm to fit giant pulley between wheel and swingarm.
      1 * notched the left side down leg of frame where belt would ride frame was in the way of belt by 3/8 inch. it's now a solid rod with notch instead of hollow tubing. 2* had to move entire swing arm to the left for pulley clearance. so the inside edge of the belt rides about where the chain did but outside is 48 mm into where the frame and swing arm used to be. cut 55 mm off of inside of right side bushing/ bearing boss and made a spacer the same size for the left boss.this placed the swingarm but not the wheel. wheel is still at center line .made custom spacers to keep wheel aligned with center. i know it sounds crazy but go look at it at my channel. it came out perfect. 5000 mile so far and no issues. i dont miss that f'n chain. i bought this bike new in 1997 and after 2015 i had enough chain lube and mess and noise and work replacing chains..... ugh .i have no regrets . 3 days of work and 356 $ in parts. will outlast 6 more chain and sprockets . awesome. suzuki should have built them this way to begin with.
      oh and after it waz done, i discovered something really cool. the belt can be removed and replaced on the side of the road on the kickstand by just removing one left side shock bolt and loosing the axel. do not have to remove the wheel from the bike. this was a happy unintended result. belt was 175 $ so no big deal like a harley belt swap.
