I think it isn't black and white, for some people ebooks are ideal, i can concentrate myself better when i read ebooks i don't know why, last time i tried to read a physical(the prisoner of azkaban), i had to get the ebook for the last chapters because i wasn't concentrating.
hi there. It is the first time I have written a comment on your channel. I used to only read academic books at school and nothing else. But in a few recent years, I have been reading other types of books a lot. With the advance of technology, of course, I can facilitate reading through a digital platform but I prefer reading a book traditionally. I love its smell and how excited I am to buy a new one and read for the joy of it and keep it forever. Also, reading a book creates for me an attention span that I really appreciate, it doesn't matter where I am, I can concentrate and dive into every single word. However, as a student who is going to take an IELTS exam soon, I have to practice skimming and scanning skills after several suggestions from experts. In the long term, it could impact the environment than electric screens. I hope humans can discover the solution soon.

I guess I might be an analogue type, not a digital one.😅 As always, thank you for your outstanding lesson.👍👏

No comparison reading paper books, and if it's mine, growing old with me. Other times I borrow from the library. Many thanks to you BBC teachers.
I think reading, either with a physical book or with a kindle/on screens, is equally great. It's important to find what suits you and your situation. For example, when I really need to read a book and I don't want to wait for its delivery, I opt for the kindle version. It just works beautifully. Here is a big advantage to reading books: many of them were written before the internet, and consequently, there was a higher standard of writing in order to be published. Today, anyone can put something on a screen. There are many errors in syntax, word choice, spelling...there is a long list of writing failures today. Read the classics of English literature from UK and American authors, and you will have a far greater understanding of the language. For example, I am learning French and Spanish, and my learning will include many books from the last century in order to give me additional perspective about the cultures and the words the authors chose to use.
I simply love electronic books, I read so much faster, safe room in my house, it's cheaper and I can take it everywhere easier. But is not a good option for kids

As a bookworm with bibliosmia, I'm pretty sure that reading books is way better. Moreover, reading from paper can lead to better and deeper understanding compared to reading from screens. **Bibliosmia is the word for someone who love the smell of books.

Reading a book is more enjoyable than watching on the screen, really! We can learn by many types of feeling that can helps us remember and analyze the information better than only watching!
My attention span is terrible and I usually read a book on the surface level. I rarely read a book for the joy of it, so I have a low range of vocabulary. I'm preparing for IELTS exam these days, I have to practice reading section. When it comes to reading, I hardly ever get high score because most of the teachers say students should read the passage by skimming, so I read the passages in that way. On the mock test, I sometimes made very bad inferences to the questions. Thus, different kinds of thoughts pop up in my mind, I'm like a stupid learner or something like that.
