Hi
I think this could be more fun at like 500hp, could actually get drivable cars and laps
Maybe next time I'll go for 500hp on some different configurations
perhaps keep displacement the same too? idk.@@automotiveflux
@@firewalldaprotogeneither its gonna be a tiny v8 or a massive i4
or could just be somewhere in the middle for both. i think a 4L v8 is only a little bit small and a 4L I4 is only a little bit large@@Geereg69
I started thinking of Wangan Midnight Devil Z
the turbo lag on that I4 😆
It was much worse, it's like the 80s all over again
i'm down for more tests like this, it's interesting
from too little power to too much power in one slider change lmao
The lack of a fastback on these “definitely not datsuns” is driving me insane lmao
>Pushrod i4
Why would you do this. This is causing me actual, physical pain. I don't even think they make SOHC inline fours in modern day, let alone /pushrod/
Perfect balancing on those engines, dude.
tbh, I expected you to use the same displacement for both engines, to see what more bangs vs bigger bangs does to an engine.
the i4 had a disadvantage because of the halfed displacement, meaning the turbo had to up it's game to make enough power.
T
hat being said, 1000 hp for either vehicle was too much lol
Using half a V8 is the whole point lmao.
@@wolfgang_h3t the problem comes with the inline 4's turbo needing to provide more boost to compensate for the lack of displacement compared to the v8.
So this test was not very good for showing anything other than displacement matters. It didn't show the difference between and inline 4 and a v8 at all.
@@wolfgang_h3t tldr, test didn't isolate variable of inline-4 vs v8 from displacement, boost, and engine rpm.
@@-aid4084the goal is the entire point. The engine with the displacement advantage has a way easier time.
woudnt a better, more modern chassis with more downfore be better for the actual comparision? that way you could avoid the accidents from happening, idk
I’d actually love to see a comparison like an old 70s V8 vs a brand new 2.0 turbo engine with all the bells and whistles making similar power. Or maybe something like an old but powerful v8 muscle car vs a modern but much less powerful car
well a 70s mustang makes like 140 hp so a 140hp 4 cyl is what you could get in a corolla...
@@quartzcyanisnah the old 1970 mustang made somewhere around 325hp in the 302. That’s off the top of my head so might not be 100%
@@SeventhCircle77 I'm talking about the Mustang II cobra (yea, a 140hp cobra)
For high-horsepower race engines, 1st gear needs to be much taller; it should stretch to 100km/h in first gear at a minimum. That's how historic LeMans racers were geared; first gear tall as hell, all the others close together to straddle the peak powerband.
You NEED a harmonic dampener my man
Chill vroom VS angry vroom
congrats on the little one man
Creates test for comparing power, does cornering tests.
I think what we wanted to see was quarter mile and top speed
It's not comparing power as much as it's comparing power delivery
Fun fact: the reason you cant turn of the traction control is because you jave a setup where the.l car has some form of active suspension, but no actual traction control (i believe this is a bug) so you can switch sport amd comfort, but it does nothing.
Its not just the game, its how it works in reality as well. A 600cc 4 cylinder motorcycle will make MUCH more HP than a 600cc single cylinder motorcycle. More power strokes will be occurring in the same amount of time in the 4 cylinder vs. the 1 cylinder.
There is no replacement for displacement (or extra cylinders to a point)
@@automotiveflux Cylinder count matters much more than displacement if you're going for high horsepower. Displacement lends itself more to torque
@@automotiveflux RPM matters as well because HP is a product of RPM, multiple smaller pistons can move more quickly/rev higher than fewer big ones
@@666cemetaryslut it is a factor but natural engine balance and many other factors can contribute much more to rpm limits than the amount of cylinders.
@@magicstew45more cylinders = smaller and lighter cylinders at same displacement = MUCH easier to go to higher rpms this is why F1 cars have 1.5l V6 engines which you would never see in a modern road car. They also have very short stroke because that also helps to survive high rpm but obviously there are other factors as well
Don't know about the rest of us but what I learned today is that, just maybe, 1000hp is not quite as magical as we have been led to believe... :D
It might be fun to see if a bit more civilizing stuff could make either of these useable as a daily. Time to tweak what you posted in your discord!
Thanks for the half hour of fun today, sir!
Unless the car was made for it (ex. Bugatti) 1000hp is useless
He used the original tires that came on the car
**driving skills left the chat**
Honda guys run crazy boost to make 1000+. You can make over 1000 on a stock block K20, with very upgraded internals obviously, but the block holds it. You ARE at risk of literally splitting the block in half tho. I think they do actually run around 70 PSI. But yeah, having stiffer valve springs definitely helps lol, especially to get you higher RPMs to try and give you a more linear, usable power band.
But the K20 head flows so much better than any pushrod could doo 😅 helps the tubro spul up much quicker and you get the boost in the cylinders I man the 3,3bar in the video never really got in the engine
@@TheLtVoss Yeahhh I would've done DOHC for both motors, or at least the I4. I feel like some of the choices were kinda arbitrary.
G'day mate great vid my only criticism is that I think you should have used the same bore and stroke on the 4 as the 8 keep practicing turbo tuning ya gotta min max that stuff
Also the that he leaft the intercooler so small hurts
Some drag racing would've been good🤧
Can't you do Sequential turbos or, just one for each pair of exausts? on the I4
Think there may be some limits. For example, the Aliexpress 49cc single cylinder two stroke engine in my moped is significantly more powerful than the Aliexpress 78cc four stroke V8 engine my buddy has. We experimented, it simply lacks the torque to even move the moped, let alone drive it at a reasonable speed. Though to be fair I don't think the V8 is intended to power anything, I think it's meant to sit on a test stand and amuse rich people.
Hello may I know how to get that body?
I like the plates. Atm a ton.
The top speed was set slightly bias towards the v8
Would be cool the smallest 16 cylinder vs the biggest 4 cylinder
That is a fun idea
@@automotiveflux thanks🙃
3.8 L V6 twin-turbo and just build it as best you can please
if you use a boxer 4 it allows you to twin turbo the engine in automation.
Yes but that isn't an inline 4 so it doesn't make sense for my comparison
hey dude where can i find those car on the discord ?
love those video tho
They are in new video discussion somewhere
1000hp on an i4 is 250hp per cylinder and my tuned car which already fast makes 330hp on all four pistons. Crazy.
Keep in mind the 50psi of boost it takes to pull that off
You picked some of the worst engine hardware for a high hp 4 cylinder build. If the engine was more optimized it wouldn’t have such extreme lag and wouldn’t require such high boost pressure.
Do you use mods for automation
Yes, from the steam workshop
Basically a toyota 3/5S build or a 90s volvo red block build
Stock blocks capable of over 1000hp, and almost 1000kw each
Inline 4 moment
I cant stop making 2-8k horsepower engines smh. Hopefully future updates dont make it even harder to make stupid but fun vehicles.
A few updates ago the overall max power was lowered pretty significantly but it seems like under 10k is here to stay
@@automotiveflux At least we can still edit the engine files after the fact if they ever do lower the power more.
I see datsun I click

Your daughter sounds happy in the background. And looks pretty comfortable on you. You said she is 3 months old? According to the internet she can hold her head well at this point, but my mom still advised me to support the head of my brother who was 6 months old at that point. Also she has a little darker spot on her head, I wonder what it is. I hope I am not bothering you with my pseudo-parening.
That spot is called a "strawberry mark" or by the medical name "Haemangioma", it's harmless in that location so no worries there. It should go away before she turns 10
It is fkn annoy how he doesn't bother touching the handling of the vehicles at all.
I ended up doing the 500hp idea with 4.0L engines th-cam.com/video/u7EtS6iIUiA/w-d-xo.html

i think your skill is the issue not the car. Do you know how to shift a manual you have to let off the gas and then clutch not full throttle and hit the clutch. you spun out multiple times because you are basically clutch kicking every shift. also you can use less throttle 100% is obv to much but you kept jabbing it to 100 again making you spin out. same w the brakes no abs means no 100% or you will just slide
Pushrod i4? ewwwww
I liked my own comment and replied to my own comment
Why do you check
I feel that I could build a 600-750 biturbo V or I6 that would outrun both... But definitely in a better platform that isn't based on a 50+ year old sports car..
Do it
Stealing this idea :D
Go ahead, sharing ideas is part of the fun
For having 1000hp, its terribly slow..
4 banger > v8
Incorrect
Lopey V8 > I4
Should have just drag raced them and timed them. Top speed run and timed them. Negate the driving skills.
Drag racing still requires skill
