    I really like how you show the amount of kilometres you rode and how you rated the twisties and scenery on the day's ride. You some varying weather conditions to contend with and you rode very capably. I enjoyed watching. Stay safe and well.

    One of the benefits of not making reservations for accommodations is a simple fact that you don't have to be any place at a certain time. Of course the downside to that is, you don't have a place organized to stay causing you to having to wing it. 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @dustnroad
      @dustnroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree. I chose to book all my lodging this time mostly due to the pandemic (very few lodging) but I will probably go back to not booking in advance on my next trip (or maybe one day in advance). It was putting way too much stress on the whole trip.

    Poughkeepsie NY in the Hudson Valley. Before I moved to SC 2 years ago I lived in the Hudson Valley (town of Newburgh) for 30+ years. Poughkeepsie has some beautiful places BUT it seems that you went into the not so good spot from what I could see lol. So you were correct in having your antenna up for danger. It was nice everything went well for you.
    That Bear mtn bridge rd you speak of if I remember correctly is NY rt 6 ( we called it the goat trail) . It is steep in some spots with lots of hairpins. My friends and I loved. 15- 20- 25 yrs ago my friends and I would spend hrs on that road having a blast. It was nice to see some ol favorite/familiar roads again. 🤙🤙. Excellent video.

    “Brain Loading”! Laughed my butt off, been there😂 Last time I got rained on I pulled over and checked the weather radar to try to find my way around the rain clouds. Epic fail. Should’a just gone for 8 coffees somewhere.
    Also, you rode through some of the most complex geological parts of not just North America but the world. You may or may not be interested but search “Orogeny Geological Formation of North America: 600 million years to present”. Short version, the Appalation mountains were once greater than the Himalayan ranges. Scotland and Newfoundland share some of the world’s oldest rocks. There’s also a channel called Geodoxa that highlights incredible ice age features closer to you.

    Was excited to see a new video posted this AM! You didn't disappoint. I grew up in Eastern NY, & it was great to see some familiar scenery. Your mind works in a fun, beautiful way. It makes things interesting & what is life for if you don't stop & smell (see) the bridges, or the lighthouses, or the biggest, oldest, weirdest something or other! Safe travels.

    I will apologize for laughing but you were cracking me up. Let me explain why. I have spent the last 39 years in the transportation and logistics industry. I remember the days when I was a driver in an 18 wheeler going all over the country and everything you were talking about in this video were the same things that would make me swear either at myself or other idiots on the road. As I listened to you I kept thinking to myself “hmm she sounds just like me “. Anyway I’m glad you have had a safe week. I hope all is well with you. Be safe.

    • @dustnroad
      @dustnroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahah, that's okay, it was meant to be silly ;-) And I'm sure a 18 wheeler driver must be annoyed quite often on the road.

      It does seem like people are getting more stupid as time goes on. I think there are too many distractions nowadays. Just be careful. Here in Utah we have already had 44 motorcycle fatalities this year.
      I hope you are well and that you continue to have a safe journey.
